(…so you don’t have to, of course!)
Hello there friends! I told you I’d be back with a little Zara try on and here I am. I tried my best to find the items I linked in my graphic post in store but I came up a bit short. Zara online has so much more than my local store but overall I’d say Zara is fitting a lot more consistent these days. It used to be all over the place but now I’m finding I can get pretty close to my typical size more often than not. I’ve found 12 new arrivals and want to walk you through each piece, perfect for spring. All are under $100, too!
PS: the chambray pants I’m wearing in this try on are from Splendid. They are from last year and are now a touch big, but I still love them! The wide leg is comfortable and so chic. I am in the large, but would buy a medium today. They run TTS, most fitted at the waist. Find them here.
Let’s get to the pieces!
smooth knit sweater tank
This sweater tank is giving 1993 mom on vacation and that is my muse rn. It’s not too thick so it’s fine for spring / early summer and I love the fit. Not cropped but definitely best with high waist shorts / pants. I’m in the medium. Under $50!
PRINTED SHIRT ZW COLLECTION
I am in the medium of the top. It fits TTS, loosest in the bodice / bust and most fitted at the arm holes / shoulders. I almost with with a large for more arm room but didn’t like the look of the rest of the top. It was just a bit too big. So I’m kind of in between the medium and large but ultimately went with the medium.
Fabric is a thicker, shinier satin. I feel like it will hold its shape throughout the day /not get too wrinkly as well.
ZW COLLECTION PRINTED PANTS
I loved this set. Lord knows I love a Zara pant set. I bought two different sizes in the pants / top. I got the large in the pants because they fit more fitted at the waist (even though on the model they’re loose as a goose.) I would say if you need extra room in the waist, go up one size. If not, stay TTS!
MID-RISE Z1975 WIDE LEG JEANS
I loved these jeans from the moment I put them on. They’re a dusty rose color, almost brown-ish, but very springy somehow. I am in the 8 and they fit like a dream. Not too tight / not too loose with stretch. If you are in between size you could probably go down one size. Side note — they are a dusty rose-ish, but to me they’re more brown, let’s say they’re a brownish pink. It’s giving Sezane, but about $100 less.
Rustic Linen Shirt
Love this little *almost* peplum blouse. It’s the right amount of boho with the embroidery and the cut of it all. It’s slightly sheer but not bad, like I’m fine with my nude bra and you can’t see skin. It’s just a thinner linen fabric. I’m in the medium – TTS with a relaxed fit!
PS: I love it paired with the pink-brown jeans!
HIGH-WAISTED PAPERBAG DENIM SHORTS
I loved these shorts! I’m a bit mad at myself from leaving them behind! I am in the 8 and they fit perfectly! Not too tight either! The belt is a bit cheap looking overall, so I’d ditch that but otherwise it’s a nice pair of shorts for under $40!
Re: the paperboy waist – it’s not too exaggerated so it doesn’t feel too specific. I know paperboy waist can be polarizing but this one feels subtle.
Linen Blend Short Jacket
I also walked away from this linen jacket but I loved it. I couldn’t quite place how I’d wear it in the next few months before it got too warm for it, so I left it behind. It’s a beautiful piece though and I”m kind of regretting it! I am in the medium. It is most fitted at the arm holes / shoudlers so if you are broad shouldered, go up one size. I also found the sleeves to be a touch short for me.
OPENWORK EMBROIDERY SHIRT
This top is adorable! I didn’t get it but I did love it. I am in the medium – I think if I wanted it to fit like the model then I would go up to a large. Zara shows it to be a more boxier fit but the medium fits more tailroed for me. I woudl say size based on how you want the style to be – tighter will be more tailored looking, sizing up with be relaxed / more casual.
Zip Up Denim Jacket
LOVED this jacket top! I bought this one! It fits slightly oversized, I’m in the medium. Runs big in my opinion. I ended pairing it with some dark denim for an outfit but I’ll link the Zara matching pants here too 🙂 Find the matching pants here.
KNIT CARDIGAN WITH SHORT SLEEVES
Loved this sweater. It’s giving Stitch if you too are a mother of a 7 year old kid rn lol. I was like oh I could wear this to the movie in May! I loved the color – it’s a gorgeous blue IRL. The fit is perfect but definitely fitted. I’m in the medium, stretchy but tailored fit.
WASHED HEAVY COTTON T-SHIRT
Loved this set! The sizing is WAY different for each piece though! The fabric is a thick washed cotton, so the top is VERY oversized. I’m in the medium and if I wanted it to fit like on the model, I’d need to size down to a small. I like this oversized fit though. It honestly reminds me of the Frank and Eileen capelet. There are three neutral colors too.
WASHED HEAVY COTTON MINI SKIRT
The skirt on the other hand is small. I took the large and it fits really well at the waist but it is pretty short. I don’t know why but I was expecting this to have short underneath it! I think I’ve gotten used to those tennis skirts I’ve been wearing. Size up! Fit is small / short.
SHORT EMBROIDERED DRESS
This was from a past try on but this dress is finally weather appropriate! I believe I’m in the large here for the length. I loved this dress – the only thing I don’t like is the belt, I don’t like how the fabric twists in it. But that’s an easy leave off or swap out with a belt I own.
