J.Crew has been having a big sale for a few weeks now so if you haven’t checked it out, it’s still going on! It says it’s going to end tonight though, just FYI! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pieces I’ve found recently for spring!
Poplin Dress
In true form, I didn’t read the description and I assumed this dress was linen. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it’s a cotton poplin! Which makes way more sense for this dress. It’s a beautifully made dress, very tailored and fits well. I’m in the medium, true to size fit for me. The arms are the most fitted, but not TOO tight by any means. The lenght is nice too. Overall this feels like a much more expensive dress than it is!

the barrel chinos
I wanted to give these barrel chinos a try and the verdict is in: I really like them. If you are new to the ‘barrel’ shape these are mild and actually quite flattering. They are somewhere in between a wide leg and a tapered leg. I am in the 29, fit is true to size, not too tight anywhere really!
They seem like they’ll be an easy go to this spring / summer and a nice alternative to a poly fabric trouser. (these are cotton.) My one complaint is that they are slightly sheer in the fact that you can see the pocket outline. I’m assuming the other, darker colors are not but just keep that in mind.

High Rise Denim Shorts
I also love this pair of denim shorts! Highly recommend. This one is a more standard fit for a denim short, as compared to the other one I shared. It is stretchy and I love the dark denim. Fit is true to size, relaxed. I’m in the 29.
I’m glad I found this pair because I’m trying to move away from the distressed look of denim shorts. I’ll still wear the ones I have but I don’t want to purchase any more distressed. They were in style and in stock for so many years, I feel like it’s time for me to make a change. I also like that this reads more tailored than casual and I love the darker denim hue.

Linen Tie Front Dress
I LOVE this dress! I also love that it’s on sale, which of course makes it even better. It is a lightweight linen dress, realxed fit so the medium fits perfectly but it is loose. Now if you are in between sizes, go down a size. One note: it’s not lined so a slip may be needed.
I also like the idea of this dress for summer. It can work as a cover up as well, works really well for summer vacations too because it’s double duty. There are lots of other colors as well. I like the idea of navy for summer as a replacement for black.
Drapey Front Denim Shorts
I’m calling it now — these will be my most worn shorts this summer. I love the fit – they feel like a grown up denim short. I love the tailoring on these, with the highways and the drapey front. The fabric is a softer denim. I am in the 29, they run true to size with a looser fit. If you are in between sizes, go down one size.
Tailored Linen Shorts
These shorts are on sale! I hate to repeat myself but the quality on these is amazing – they feel way more expensive than they are. They’re lined shorts, very tailored fit and a really nice fabric. It has a touch of a sheen to it, as well. I am in the 8 / 29 and they fit perfectly for me. A touch short, so keep that in mind. But overall a beautiful tailored short. Comes in a few colors too!
PS: I’ve shared this sweater before but this is a new favorite too. it’s a slouchy loose fit, so size down if in between sizes. I’m in the medium, TTS. Find it here — now on sale!
Relaxed Linen Tee
I’ve been wearing this top for the past two weeks! It is a new favorite of mine and it’s on sale. It is linen and slightly sheer but it’s fine with a normal bra, it’s just very linen-y if you know what I mean. It does run BIG and loose. The sleeves are also loose / wide. I am in the medium, could have done a small. But I feel like it’ll shrink up a bit with a wash too. But overall it runs big.
Marina Sweater
I really loved this combo with the linen shorts and this sweater. This sienna hue is gorgeous and I wouldn’t have thought to pair this color with spring, but it works so well. I love it with this linen hue. I am in the medium of the sweater. Fit is oversized but true to size, if that makes sense. It’s loose and forgiving. Lots of colors as well!
