I’ve been on the hunt for trousers that fit well and this has lead me down many (unsuccessful) rabbit holes. What I’ve found is that most of the time if you have a rounder waist, the sizing can be very off. If it fits in the waist, it won’t fit in the legs. I love J.Crew but for trousers, I struggle finding my exact size in them. Until this pair. I finally found a pair that fits perfectly. And if it fits well on me, I guarantee it’ll fit well on you.
I was recently gifted this pair of Quince wool trousers and I truly love them. (While I wore these for a sponsored post on IG, this post is not sponsored and the opinions are my own!) If you are looking for a classic trouser, this one is highly recommended. I wanted to break down a few looks that you can easily recreate with black pants. On the surface, they’re just a black trouser but really you can take them from casual to office with just a swap of your shoes or top. Let’s break it down below!
I’m in the 8 of the trousers, I find that they fit perfectly. There is an elastic band at the back, so the front looks clean and professional but the back gives a bit more wiggle room. Since they’re from Quince, they’re really well priced too for wool, right at $100 for this pair. The fabric keeps its structure as it has just a touch of stretch throughout as well. You can find this pair of trousers here!
Look 1: Elevated Hoodie
Add a hoodie and some sneakers to your trousers and voila! You have an elevated casual look. You can go one step further and go with a sweater hoodie to give more texture to the look. Find my hoodie here!
Look 2: Peplum Sweater
This sweater is my favorite from Quince recently! It’s so soft and I love the slight peplum of it all. The sleeves bell out just a bit as well — not enough to be annoying but just enough to give some shape. I am in the medium, fit is TTS.
Look 3: Breezy Blouse
This look can be an easy transition into spring, just layer on a blazer for now and go without for later! While still dressy, this top leans a bit more casual and in fact I can confirm that this breezy blouse also works well with denim! As you can see it’s slightly sheer, so a camisole might be necessary as an extra layer. I am in the medium, fit is relaxed / generous. Find this top here.

All of that to say that a nice pair of black trousers will go a long way in your closet. Definitely an essential that’s worthy of many outfits all season long.
