Hiiiiii my friends. I am not back my typical content just yet but I am back with lots of real outfits I’ve worn in the last week-ish! And so excited to have a new selfie spot in the new house. Our house is slowly (very slowly…too slowly for my liking if I’m being honest…) coming together but it already feels like home. We’ve only been in for 3 weeks but it’s functioning really well for us. It’s taken me three houses and about 10 years to understand that function is a HUGE part of buying a house, not just things that I aesthetically like. To be fair, both are important to me, but I think we’ve finally got the right mix of function and form.
My friends, how are we doing this week? I feel like January is flying by but not in a productive or fun way either. It’s been a good but I feel like after the school breaks, the snow days, the move, we just went straight back into our full time schedule with school, sports, work, etc. And I’ve got to be honest, I was not ready. I think this every January: why don’t you take down time after the holidays? The holidays are not the down time. I think I mistake a kids school break as my own break and boy is that not correct. So if my content is light through this week, just know I’m still trying to get our house back together, get my work all sorted (and figuring out my substack content!! I’m excited!) but on here it may be a bit light. *cues winning smile*
Okay onto the outfits!
Wore this outfit today actually! I met a friend for coffee right after drop off and to therapy. In other words, this outfit is *trauma dump* approved!
Two things — this sweater is under $50 and is one of my favorites from Quince. I have the navy (hard to see the color here) but would recommend in any neutral. It does shrink up a touch, even with laying flat to dry so I have the large and after a wash it fits perfectly. Find it here.
And my jeans are on sale — as in $45 right now! This pair is from Abercrombie, fit is TTS but is most fitted at the waist. I’m in the 30 but a 29 would be a closer fit right now. I like that they’re a straight leg, but not quite skinny jean. I will always love this silhouette and did you notice my topknot? 2012 will always live in me.

Okay so this pair of pants probably deserves a whole post but I rented this pair of pants back in 2023 from nuuly when I had an account and I’ve thought about them ever since I sent them back. I wished I would have kept them and I’ve looked around for them on postmark / ebay but never found them. I ended up re-instating my nuuly account this year and realized they sell resale items! I immediately checked for these pants and BOOM. Found. For $25 they’re mine now. Amazing right? (You can find them here.)

This is a typical gym outfit as of late, thought I’d throw it in here! It’s been cold here and the gym can be cool so I just kept the sweatshirt on, even though I do have a crop top sports bra situation under here as well. Also as you can see my ankles are alive and well. Every once in a while I’ll do tall socks, but I love the leggings – bare ankle – sneakers look. Never not representing us millennials out in the wild.

I wore this to a brunch with some friends the other weekend! It was a causal vibe, so I went with my favorite reformation pullover (old from 2021 and I can’t find it anywhere online!) I’ve linked a few similar though below this post!
So I am going through my closet to see which jeans still fit / want to keep and I’m kind of sad that some of my favorites aren’t fitting the same. This pair is Madewell Wide Leg jean and it really is a classic. I’m in the 30, fit IS true to size, per usual with Madewell. I like that this pair has a healthy amount of stretch as well. Always recommend. But sadly (for me) this pair may end up in the pre-loved shop soon.

I’ll say it — I still struggle with finding the right shoes with wide leg jeans. I’ve finally embraced the trend but the shoes…that’s a touchy subject. And, at least for me, there is not one across the board option for wide leg pants; they’re all so different and therefore the shoe options are different too. All that to say, yes my feet were cold in this outfit and yes I’d probably go back now and switch shoes. I’m finding that I like sneakers the best, but I swear 2025 I’m going to figure this out. Right before the trend changes back to skinny jeans.
This J.Crew sweater is a CLASSIC and I don’t feature it enough! It comes in handy when I need a nice looking sweater just to toss on. Cashmere: For when you want to look pulled together, but you don’t feel put together. I am in the medium, fit is TTS. Find it here!
(Also my jeans run TTS, slightly snug at the waist. I am in the 30 and really like this size / fit.)

Date night for B and I! This Reformation skirt is sold out sadly but I’ll link a dress you could easily toss a sweater over on and get the same look. I wear a large in Reformation for length!

I loved this outfit! I felt cool all day long; I love when my outfit coolness doesn’t expire. This sweater is nice to layer over because it’s not too thick and it’s fitted but not too clingy. I’m in the medium for fit reference!

I tossed this outfit on while running out the door to meet with some friends and had I managed my time better I would have slapped on a belt as well! That would have really set this outfit off. Note to self: accessorize more this year.
This pair of jeans I’m trying from nuuly. I really like Agolde, but I’m trying to decide if I love this fit. Again — really embracing this wide leg theme and I like the fit of this pair. The quality of the jeans is unmatched, Agolde washes and wears forever. I will say this pair runs big! Size down one if in between sizes.

I too struggle with What shoes to wear with different pants, especially wide Leg, in cold temps. Help!
