I wanted a version of this tee from &Other Stories and I kept putting in my cart…and it kept selling out. And then Madewell came out with this one and I knew this was a sign. A style I’ve been wanting AND at my favorite retailer? DONE.

I really really like this pair of trousers. At first I was a bit sus, the first time I tried them on. I have a rounder waist and trousers just don’t always agree with me. But after two wears they relaxed and I love them now. They’re so comfortable to wear, they don’t cling to anything and I love the length of them — perfect for flats / sneakers right now. Secondly, I will say this– and I mean this for all trousers, not just these: they are not attractive from the side, on me at least. In my opinion there is a reason I can’t see my backside; it’s none of my business. From the side, there is no shape as they kind of fall the same in the front and the back. I didn’t get a photo of this but basically they’re a bit shapeless in the back. For me? I don’t care. But I thought it was worth a mention. I’ve made peace with the fact that style right now is not the most flattering on my body type and that’s okay. I walk a fine line between wearing what I like and what’s in style while finding a good middle ground of what I feel comfortable in and what looks best on my body type.
Do you feel the same about these wide leg or relaxed trousers? So comfortable and they can be really cute when styled, but as far as showing my best features? Not so much. But I still like them and like wearing them. What are your thoughts on style right now?
