I have long struggled to find the right trouser for my body type. Like the trouser trend has been alive and well for a few seasons now and it’s a trend I absolutely love. On others. I’ve struggle finding the perfect pair for my body type. For me, trousers are have always been a better fit for smaller waists, not rounder waists like mine. And that’s fine…. except for when you have a rounder waist and you really want to wear this trend well. I have a J.Crew pair of trousers that I stand by today, but they’re still tightest in the waist / hip area. They were the best I could find at the time, but it wasn’t without some inner bargaining of ‘this is what it is if you want to wear this trend.’
Until now. I found this pair from Anthro and I got the size large, knowing the history of my body and the typical trouser fit. But guess what? The Anthro girlies said YOU TOO with this pair of trousers and not only do they fit a rounder waist but they run generously. Like not only are they not too tight, they’re kinda big! I may or may not size down to a medium, because I actually love how these fit slightly slouchy and a little lower on my waist. Plus the back of the waistband is elastic, so it gives you even more wiggle room. I went into these trousers with the lowest of expectations and I’m leaving with the highest of highs. If you struggle finding a pair of trousers, give these a shot. (NOTE they are long! If they fit you in the waist but you’re a bit on the shorter side, a tailor may need to get involved.)

I really like this brand from Anthro for graphic tees. It’s extremely soft, like it’s been lived in, the kind of cotton I used to find in thrift stores. Just really soft and worn in, but not worn out. I am in the large, but could easily wear a medium too. This tee runs loose / oversized. It is on the pricier side so I’ve rounded up a few other graphic tees that would work well for this look. And shout out to a reader for pointing out the really good graphic tees at Abercrombie!
