I’ve been pretty open about how on the fence I am about 90s/ 00s trends. But when they are reimagined in our timeline and it’s done well, I absolutely love it. I haven’t worn a halter top in quite some time, but this one from J.Crew is welcome in my current wardrobe any time. With the contrasted neckline and the quite interesting fabric — it’s a structured knit, so much so it has a zipper on the side. If you like a transition piece for summer / winter that can also layer later in the fall, this is a nice piece. I am in the large but a medium would have fit better. I find it runs just a touch generously. Find it under $50 here!
I did toss on this blazer even though it was absolutely blazing outside for one reason only: the outfit photos. I noticed these shorts matched the black of the shorts perfectly and I love a matching set / suit situation. I will be re-creating this outfit when it’s a bit cooler outside, but for now it lives on the internet and my dreams.
This is the oversized blazer I shared from the Nordstrom Sale however it’s not on sale anymore. But I’d like to however that however and say that it will probably go on sale in the next few months. If I know my sales patterns – and I do – give it a month. But with that being said, it runs loose and oversized in the best way possible. It seems like from the reviews if you are petite, then this is not the best fit for you. But if you’ve got a broad shoulder situation, then this is a good option for you! I am in the medium, fits like a large and I love it. I have a hard time finding the right oversized fit for me, sometimes it just comes across clown like. No shade to clowns, you’re doing the best you can in an underrated profession. I also like that this fabric is herringbone which gives it a different dimension, not just a flat poly that I find in so many blazers these days but it’s still lightweight.

So cute! But what kind of bra are you wearing? Im a 34 DDD (sigh) and struggle with anything that cuts in at the armpits/chest (if that makes sense).
I just read your post, and I’m totally in love with the idea of bringing back the halter top! I’ve been hesitant about trying 90s styles, but the way you described this one has me so excited to give it a go. I’m curious, though—what would you recommend pairing it with for a more casual, everyday look? And do you have any tips for finding the right bra to wear with a halter top? Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Thanks.
