I can’t tell if I’m a hat girl or not. This conversation happened in my head during this photoshoot so I present two options to you today: hat and non-hat. That’s right — I started this outfit with a hat and then midway through the shoot I decided ‘well maybe it will look better without hat?’ So my indecision now gives you two visual options to choose between for yourself. Both are very much acceptable with this outfit. In fact, I can’t tell which I like better. I love when all the options work, don’t you? Just goes to show you can’t go wrong with a little black dress, hat or no hat.
I was afraid that this outfit would go wrong with the shoes but I actually love the dad sneaker trend juxtaposed with this dress. The dress is activewear fabric, so while it looks like a nice fancy dress, it’s actually a sports dress. There is a built in sports bra as well, which I can attest to the function of this bra as well. I wore this complete outfit to our daughter’s birthday part on Saturday and it was perfect. The dress is so comfortable; I was able to run around but still be comfortable (and sweaty! lol)
I am in the large of the dress, but it runs a bit generous. I think the medium would fit me a bit better. If in between sizes, go down one size. It runs slightly bigger at the chest.

Let’s talk about dad sneakers. They’ve been quietly around for the last few years and in a few different forms. This is the most pure form of Dad Sneaker — the 1993 dad at theme park model. And you know what? They’re just as comfortable as they were for my father back in the day. I know heels are coming back strong but I love the sneaker and flats trends for the comfort. This is an all-day pair for sure. I am in the 9.5 because some of the reviews said they run big but after wearing them all day, not for me. I think a 10 would fit best but it’s too late because I wore them lol. Don’t be like me, stay TTS.
