Happy August, friends! In my mind it is August 2nd, so as you can see even my brain is wired to be about 2-3 business days behind. Time is a construct anyways. So since we are just two days into August *wink* I wanted to share my August moodboard with you! I took a small break over the summer months but the mood boards are back! Let’s see what’s on my mind this month…

Obviously red is on my radar as well as black and white. You’ve probably noticed a lot of black and white lately, too. With the resurgence of color and all lately I feel sheepish to continue sharing my neutrals, but I like what I like. And right now it’s black and white with a pop of bold red. See a few of my favorites below.

Bold Red

• I especially love this red maxi from J.Crew and it’s on sale! I just got it and it is the nicest fabric, not silk but it could have fooled me. Speaking of J.Crew, look at these embellished mesh flats, too. If that sentence isn’t out of 2005, then I don’t know what is.
• I am so mad at myself — I missed the launch of the most perfect Clare V. grande fanny color possible: the tomato red. I would be lying if I said I don’t check their in-stock page at least once a week. I’d love to get my hands on that one, but if I can’t I think I may swap over to this one from Madewell with very similar vibes.

Black and White

• I’m trying to get in on the smaller sunglasses look, but my Karen Walkers have been with me for well over a decade, so I feel disloyal to them. But if I had to try the trend, this pair under $75 seems like a nice find and a nice mix between my usual oversized sunglasses and the weird tiny ones.
• This polka dot dress is a keeper for me, I’ve just got to figure out where I’m wearing it to. I love the bold print on the mini length, it’s honestly perfect for an in between month like August.
• I loved the look on Sophia Richie, so I sourced similar pieces from Aritizia! Find a similar white poplin skirt here and a tube top here.  Also how are we all doing now that tube tops are back? Are we feeling ok? Breathing through it, taking breaks when needed? Good, good. I’ve accepted the movement, as you can see here.
