Hi friends and happy Friday! I am off to see my girl perform in her theatre camp performance today (isn’t that so cute??) This summer is flying by, which I actually didn’t expect. But we have another month or so before school and it will be here before you know it. It has been a master class in multi-tasking trying to work with a kid at home, but I think we are in the groove now. Multiple lego sets and a few camps later, I think I’ve cracked the code to getting a few hours of work done a day. (Major props to every parent who WFH with kids during the pandemic without a panic room. Are you okay now though?) Okay now I’m just rambling, aren’t I?

So I was thinking about these WIWLW posts and how I kind of started them out of necessity this spring because I couldn’t really find a way to get content out without Bryan’s photos. (Which we’ve figured this out now so you guys still get pretty editorial content as well!) But I’ve come to love these posts for a few reasons. One is because it helps me get dressed, in fact I actually get quite excited to! Another reason is because it’s a real representation of my ‘everyday’, what I’m wearing as I’m running out the door. I literally snap these pics as I’m leaving the house, it’s become a quick habit of mine now! I also like how casual it all is. I do notice how I tend to dress quite similar each day and for a second I hesitate to share my outfits because of similarities, but at the same time I’m just happy I want to get dressed again. This probably begs a whole post but I was going through some kind of burn out last year though this spring, so it feels nice and a lot more like myself to get dressed and to share with you what I’m wearing.

Thank you for encouraging more casual type posts and for sticking around through all of my ebbs and flows. 🙂 Okay let’s get to what I’ve been wearing lately!

Zara Linen Blouse | Agolde Parker Shorts | Reformation Sandals | Chloe Marcie Crossbody

I am in the large in the linen top and it’s perfectly oversized! One of my favorite tops from Zara ever. I am in the 30 of the shorts, fit is more fitted at the waist and this pair is VERY high rise just FYI. These Reformation sandals are going to be worn into the ground, they are so comfortable. They don’t rub anywhere on my feet and even I find that hard to believe, but it’s true.

Let’s see where did I wear this outfit to? Oh yes, I wore this outfit on a Saturday trip to the mall for some returns, a Lego store visit and out to a patio dinner with the family. I felt a bit under dressed for dinner as we went to one of our favorite Italian places on aw hime but we sat on the patio and by the end of it all, the relaxed vibe was just fine. Oh and B is making a guest appearance this week 🙂

On Bryan: OAS Shirt | A&F Shorts | Nisolo Flats

Frank and Eileen Button Down (diff color) | Madewell Relaxed Shorts | Madewell Purse | Reformation Sandals | Striped Shirt Similar

This Frank and Eileen shirt is no less than 6-7 years old. I think I got it after Gemma was born but I can’t quite remember. I got it on sale on a whim at Nordstrom one summer and I’ve loved it ever since. I guess I can speak to the quality of F&E because this top washes out and wears beautifully, it gets softer with wear. One of my favorite pieces I’ve ever owned. I’ve linked what I think is the closest from them, but probably not exactly the same, just FYI. My Madewell shorts are on sale! They run generously, but I’m in the 30 and love the fit.

This was just an everyday outfit! I think just a typical day look for me, to be honest.

J.Crew Cotton Dress | Staud Mini Moon Dress | Zara Sandals

I love this J.Crew dress and once I realized it has a belt, I loved it even more. Photos don’t do it justice — the delicate details on the hem and the waist are gorgeous. You can see it a little better here. Looks like it’s selling out in some sizes, if you want an easy LBD for summer this is a nice option.

I wore this dress to a dinner + movie date with the family. We saw Inside Out 2 and now I’m so invested in Riley’s life I need them to make the sequels 3-10. I need to see her whole life at this point. If I don’t know how her college years, her motherhood years, etc turn out, I will never fully recover.

Free People Top | Madewell Chambray Shorts | Similar Platforms | Madewell Tote

Another one of those ‘everyday’ outfits here. Also am I low-key trying to bring the top knot back? You know I am. As my hair gets longer my little tiny pony at the nape of my neck gets increasingly more George Washington, so I’ve had to go up on bun position. It’s slowly making its way up to a top knot and I am not mad at it.

This FP top is on sale! It runs pretty big, this is the large and it’s a boxy fit, so if you have a more narrow top then definitely go down a size.

Madewell Tee | Free People Shorts | Zara Sandals | Madewell Leather Tote

How do we feel about the boxer shorts trend? I love it. I tried it out with this pair of poplin shorts from Free People and I felt like this look worked best with a rolled hem of yesteryear. Soffe shorts walked so these shorts could run. I paired it with this tee from Madewell. (I’m in the medium.)

J.Crew Linen Dress | Gucci Heels (Similar)

I wore this on a date night to a pizza joint, lol. I know it looks like I was going to church but SIKE I went to drink wine and eat pizza. I just did it in a very lady-like way. I mean you’ve seen this dress before but here it is again. It is back in stock in the large, so that’s exciting! Find it here.

Similar Button Down (Target) | Madewell Tee | Madewell Relaxed Shorts | Doen x Gap Cap | Zara Sandals

I was very proud of this outfit, if I do say so myself. I felt cool all day. I think next time I would even go with my Sambas for the shoes but the sandals were a last minute throw on, out the door decision. Have you looked at the Gap x DOEN collaboration? It’s actually really cute! I got a top and a hat but I think I’ll just keep the hat, the top didn’t fit the way I wanted it to. You know how it goes.

CoH Button Down (old) | Similar White Top | Madewell Relaxed Shorts | Reformation Sandals | J.Crew Tote

I wore this outfit to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! I wanted to go classic and easy and let’s be honest this shirt didn’t need steaming or ironing, lol. This pair of shorts are so easy to toss on as well and I love the relaxed fit. (They’re on sale!)

Nike Sweatshirt | FP Movement Shorts | ON Cloudmonsters | AllSaints Tote

And this I wore to the gym! The shorts, shoes and bag are from the sale! This is my first time trying ON sneakers and I really liked them. They rubbed a but on the back of my right ankle but do you want to know something? If I would just break down and wear ankle socks it would have been fine. Even the shoes are attacking us millennial.

I am in the medium of the shorts, they run generously. This is an older version of the Nike sweatshirt thats on sale (the swoosh is now in the center) and I’m in the medium here. Also this AllSaints bag is a nice price under $100! It’s roomy (can fit a laptop) but I”ll be using it as my gym bag! It’s on sale at the NSALE as well.
