Hello there and welcome to my new seasonal capsule! I won’t lie — I crashed and burned out this year with capsules. Doing them monthly was getting to be too much and I won’t go into it, but I realized that I need to just take a step back for a second. I thought let me step away and see if I still want to continue creating in this way and as it turns out — I just love doing capsules and I missed them! And I know you did, too. So thank you for allowing me to human and take a little pause this fall. I’m going to move forward with more seasonally tuned capsules instead of monthly, so that they are a bit more sustainable for me as a creator.
I have been seeing this red all over and I just had to include it in my capsule. To me it’s a very Kendi red (can one say that about themselves?) because it feels very reminiscent of a certain pair of heels I used to wear. (honest to god, I have no idea where they ended up, isn’t that sad!?) I also used this color way in my December 2021 capsule and I just love the pop of it for December. But the good news is this red has a hint of orange so it can be used outside of holiday as well.

A Few Favorites
Every capsule I go through a few of my favorite pieces and looks. I’m breaking them down below!
Red Midi Skirt
This skirt just feels like it belongs in my closet. It’s very Kendi, I just love this poppy red and always have. If you think red is intimidating, think again. It can mix right into any neutral you have and look — I even paired with navy successfully. My favorite combo has to be the dark brown and red — giving myself a pat on the back for that combo.
Cable Knit Sweater
I love love this sweater — wearing it as we speak in fact. I just love a loose cable knit look; it’s super versatile and it lends to the looser, kind of shapeless sweaters that are very in right now without being too big. I am in the medium of this sweater.
Camel Topcoat
This is my FAVORITE coat maybe ever. It makes me feel classic and chic and if you knew me in real life, you would know that it’s the coat doing all the work. I am in the 10, it runs slightly generously but I like that for the sweater layering aspect of it all. Look how it elevated every outfit I wore it with. *chefs kiss*
Red Cardigan
I gasped when I saw this cardigan from Sezane — it was the EXACT poppy red hue I was looking for. It’s gorgeous, albeit a tiny bit itchy but not bad. I am in the medium, tis’ true to size down a size. Look at how well it mixes in with the dark neutrals of the season and gives such a gorgeous pop! I am obsessed.

Mini Skirts + Tights
I have been waiting for this look to come back for years — THIS IS MY TIME. I love skirts, dresses with tights and so I included TWO in this capsule because why not? If you love it, then wear it. Plus with tights I feel like I’ve got extra coverage (and courage) with mini skirts and that’s why I love them in the winter.

Trousers
Last minute I switched out a little black dress for a pair of little black trousers. And I for one think it was the best choice. Trousers can be a bit trickier to style, but hopefully I gave you lots of ideas below! My best tip is to lean into the menswear of it all and go with masculine pieces and silhouettes.

I know you’ve moved on from the monthly capsules – i get it, but i felt I had to comment how eye-opening and, dare i say, life-changing it’s been for me! firstly, it showed me so clearly what a realistic number of itmens can (should) be in my closet. it also made me very appreciative of all i already owned. lastly, it’s shown me how little i need to add season to season and how thoughtfully choosing can make such an impact. I could go on but will leave it there. a big thank you, Kendi!
