Casual Outfit on Repeat

You want to know something kinda funny? I struggle coming up with outfits to wear outside of the blog. Like…everyday outfits…even though it’s literally in my blog name. Sure sure leggings and a top I can do, but like cute outfits for everyday activities — soccer games, running errands, just existing but not looking like a bridge troll. For example, I want to look cool at Gemma’s soccer games. Yes, that’s right I, a grown woman, want to look cool at a 6 year old’s 45 minute soccer game. I’m glad I could get that out there; feels good being vulnerable. And I typically don’t think about this until 15 minutes before we leave which leads me to standing in my closet staring at the same leggings and sweatshirt I usually wear. SO I’ve realized I need to come up with some ideas so that I can just put the outfit on and go. And this outfit — this is one outfit idea I’ve been wearing so I thought I’d share it with you, in case you too want to possibly receive outside affirmation from kids who really are more interested in what’s in the bag (…it better be snacks. And yes there are cheese balls in this bag. I am always prepared.)

I’ve found that layering is best for now so biker shorts it is for me (if you aren’t a fan of shorts, leggings works well!) And a big giant top like this one from Frank and Eileen, it’s a cut-off sweatshirt type but any oversized tee would work too! This one gives a bit more warmth. And then to complete the look I toss on an oversized denim jacket, which to me elevates the look. I grab my easy to tag along tote and some sneakers. (Any sneakers work!) And voila — an easy layered, casual, weekend look for a transitional fall season. How’s that for putting all of the SEO keywords into one sentence? 😉

If you don’t want to throw down the $$ for the Frank and Eileen one (I get it) this one from Old Navy is a long sleeve option that will give you the same look! I do like this Frank and Eileen top if you wondered, it’s very versatile and I have it in the dark charcoal from like 5 years ago and it’s still in great condition. But it’s a commitment you know? (I wear a large in Frank and Eileen by the way! This is a one size and it fits me like…well like a medium / large.) If you are looking for a high quality essentials company, I highly recommend them.
