J.Crew is having a 30% off of their Almost-Fall collection and I wanted to share a few things that I’ve found that I agree — it’s just almost fall. August is always such a confusing month for me style wise because retail says FALL but my brain knows that’s false. But I do like finding things I can wear right now and into fall and beyond. Here are 5 pieces from J.Crew that work now and later 🙂
#1: Scoopneck Jersey Dress
Shop the dress
Yes to this dress!! It’s Jersey — the material not the state, and it‘s a good weight heading into fall. AKA you can wear it now and not regret it! Wore it the other day and 10/10. Gorgeous fit and it twirls, if you are into that. I like to do an accidental twirl, so no one thinks I’m a freak. Well…so no one *knows* I’m a freak.
I’m in the medium, fit is a bit generous. Could probably do a large for more wiggle room in the chest, but this fits great, fitted in the right places. Very comfy!
#2: 100% Silk Camisole
Shop the camisole here.
I love camisoles for summer because you look pulled together but it’s a nice light top. I can add a blazer or cardigan or open button down over it for a light layer inside, as well. Plus a camisole is truly a year round basic. The t-shirt’s older, wiser sister. And silk? Don’t mind if I do!
This one is a warm brown, with a hint of a sheen, the straps are slightly thicker than spaghetti straps, so you may be able to get away with a regular bra on this one. This one comes in lots of hues too! I am in the large, but it runs generous. So stay TTS unless you need room for your chest.

#3: Peter Pan Collar Poplin Dress
Shop the Cotton Mini-Dress
Depending on your feelings and thoughts on a Peter Pan collar, this dress is adorable. That is unless you hate a collar like this and in that case, perhaps this dress is for you? Anyways — this is a gorgeous poplin dress and non-sheer.
Nice thicker cotton and the fit is spot on (I’m in the large, has lots of wiggle room so I’d say it runs slightly generous.)
# 4: Chino Blazer
Shop the Chino Blazer
Aw, the chino blazer. I will be honest this looks like absolutely nothing when it’s just hanging there. But on? It’s a really lovely jacket, blazer. Truly goes with everything. It’s cut like a blazer but feels like a field jacket. If you look an anorak or field haven’t, this is an updated version!
I’m in the medium, fit is TTS if not generous. Size down one.
(Even if you aren’t interested in this jacket, there is a really random 1 star review that I found enjoyable and it’s worth a click through.)
