Sometimes I get a kick out of where we shoot photos vs what you as a reader see. We drive by this hedge everyday, it’s outside of a huge house in our neighborhood (but on public sidewalk — I’m not about that trespassing life anymore ) and it’s just so perfectly maintained. I’ve been obsessed with it since last summer. They are the homeowners I aspire to be. Anyways, this was shot at about 10 am and another neighbor lady was outside trimming her trees, landscaping her lawn, etc. She watched us for a second then waved me and B down and I thought ‘oh man, she’s going to tell us we can’t shoot here for some reason’ but instead she asked if we wanted a photo of both of us. Is that not the sweetest thing? I said no, I’m much too vain to share this limelight but thank you so much. We stopped a few times for pedestrians and I watch the traffic for being, trying my best to say ‘CAR!’ in a pretty way, just in case he was getting a good shot. I just think it’s funny that when I see these photos it looks like an idyllic garden way and while it is an idyllic little hedge, I like that we were shooting in between cars passing and neighbors landscaping in 95 degree weather and this is what the camera saw.

Shop this dress via Abercrombie

Did I mention it was hot here? Of course you know that because you have common sense and it’s Texas in July. But it really is. My body is now used to it so when it’s 90-95 I think ‘oh wow it’s nice enough to go for a walk’ That’s right, I’ve gaslit myself to the heat. But because I’m used to it now, I don’t really register it and so clothes are clothes to me. I’m trying not to only wear shorts and a cute top every day so this beautiful dress from Abercrombie is giving my cut-offs a well deserved break. I am so curious about Abercrombie; I think because it was THE brand when I was in high school I still feel like I have to tip toe around it. Like I like them — but will they like me? Will I get invited to the party this weekend? It gives ‘cool kids in school’ vibes to me still. However, I did make a little order and I”ll do a mini try on here this week / weekend. They can’t stop an online order you know? No matter how dorky I am IRL.

This dress is fully lined, with adjustable straps and a zipper in the back with some stretch as well. and it’s definitely a nice Reformation look alike. It’s not the same fit / quality as Ref, but it’s a darn good alternative. I am in the large and it fits my chest the best but it is a little looser in the waist / hips so I think this dress fits true to to your typical size. You can find it under $150 here!
