Do you wear workout dresses or skirts? I am just now getting into them. Well no, not *just now*. Over the last few years I have in fact been slowly inching towards workout skirts and dresses. (I hope you envisioned me literally slowing creeping inch by inch towards a workout skirt.) At first I was suspect of the trend. Am I going to look like a tennis player? (No offense to tennis players anywhere. You’re an inspiration. It’s just…you don’t want me on your team. I’m no good and I’ll quit the second we start losing. We both know this. It’s better this way.) I started with the workout skirts and have worked my way up into the elusive exercise dress. And I think this is where the trend is best for me — the workout dress. And with pickle ball being so cool and popular now I’m like maybe someone WILL confuse me as a pickle ball player or even a tennis player! Maybe someone WILL confuse me as athletic!
SHOP THE OV MOVE FREE DRESS
I actually had a friend one time who said that she had a man walk up to her and that’s all he said. He literally just said ‘You look like you play tennis’ and walked away. Honestly? what a compliment. Maybe I’m just subconsciously wanting this compliment too. This dream of an exercise dress was planted years ago by proxy of a compliment from a stranger at an oil change.
Life really does come full circle.
Okay enough BS. This is the Outdoor Voices Move Free Dress. 10/10 recommend but it does run a size small as do most things at OV. I said what I said. I am a Large in most things there. I am wearing a strapless bra for the sake of the photos and your eyes and my ego, but other wise I would wear a sports bra with similar straps. They have biker shorts built in and you can see them just a bit as the dress moves. And a shelf bra which is not enough for me so I wear a bra with it. But I appreciate the thought. The dress is lightweight, keeps you cool and you really can work out in it! It’s also nice for traveling or if you were going to an amusement park, Disneyland or Six Flags, etc. this summer.
Oh and yes, it is essentially a one piece so you do have to roll the top down to go to the restroom. However, with a sports bra it’s fine. If someone is peeking through that 1 inch gap in the stall, well then that’s on them.
I’ve used all of my weird points today so I’m going to quickly end this post ASAP.
I am in the large of the dress. Find it here.
PS: Don’t sleep on these sneakers! They are the Reebok Club C Vintage Sneakers and they SO comfortable and the inside is Terry cloth, which is the weirdest but best flex a shoe can have. Find them here.
