Over the weekend, I poked my head into Target (aka I opened the app on my phone and perused my little heart out). This was one of those online shopping trips that was just almost a perfect 10. Everything fit well and I loved the pieces more than I was expecting. So I thought I’d share 8 items you should definitely snag at Target this summer. See? 8 out of 10 isn’t so bad!
Linen Mini Shift Dress
Okay so yes to this dress! It’s the cutest little mini dress and honestly doesn’t look Target at all. I actually think I want the black one instead but this one was at my local Target, so ya know. One note: the fabric is a rougher texture but not uncomfortable, just not super soft.
It runs a bit short, (I’m 5’9″) so I went with the large. Otherwise I’d say fairly true to size. The large fits me great — it’s a looser fit in the shoulders / bodice as you can see and I think TTS is the right for this fit.
Printed Maxi Sundress
This was another fave! This print reminds me of J.Crew kind of a feel, really pretty. It is lightweight, not quite sheer though. I tried the dress without the belt but you definetly need the belt or it looks pajama-y.
I am in the medium, fit is TTS!
Graphic Printed Strapless Dress
Are we into this print? I think we are. It’s slightly Bam-Bam (if you don’t get that reference, don’t worry about it.) but I like it!
Okay so this dress runs VERY big. I got the large becuase boons being boons but like this is huge huge. I will be returning for a medium for sure. So size down for sure! This dress also comes with straps! That was a nice surprise tbh.The dress is a cotton feel, lightweight but overall a nice feel.
Muscle Tank Top + Linen Shorts
The tank:
This is a nice basic tank as well. It’s a slightly cropped cut, but hits right at the waistline for me. I am in the large of the top, fit is TTS. It has a high neck and the armpits holes (you hate to see it) don’t hang too low. Definitely recommend as a nice basic this summer!
The shorts:
I love these shorts. I have low low expecations for shorts at Target (am I the only one?) because finding some that actually fit and aren’t an awkward length or a weird fit on my waist is an accomplisment for me. So I was so pleasantly surpsied by these! It’s kinda that same fabric as the white dress earlier, a version of ‘linen’ so slightly more rougher fabric but not uncomfortable or itchy.
The waist is drawstring and it is actually adjustable. I made my loose and wore them a little lower on my waist. I am in the large and I say TTS!
Oversized Tee + Denim Cuff Shorts
The tee:
Do you know about these wild fable tees? They are SO freaking soft, I am obsessed with them. They release a few designs every season or so, therefore I have a few of these babies. The designs are always vague so I don’t really care, I just like the fit and the fabric. It could say ‘she’s stupid’ and I’d still buy it and wear it religiously. That’s how much I love these tees and how self-deprecating I am.
I am in the XL just for that extra looseness. No need to size up, but you can if you want because you’re a grown woman. I would say go up one size if you want it extra loose.
The denim shorts:
These are the denim shorts I was so excited about! Was…meaning I am excited, like I’m wearing them now! I am in the 10, I would say size up for a looser fit but yeah overall TTS. I wouldn’t size down one but that’s just me. The reviews are kinda mixed on going up on a size, TTS and going down one. I say stick in the middle and you’ll be just fine.
The rolled cuff is sewn in and they have plenty of stretch. Not super thick and very comfortable to wear. 10/10.
JoyLab Skort
This skirt is adorable! IIt is from the activewear area, so it’s kinda hard to see here but it is more of a sporty vibe to it. They have built in shorts too! So that’s a fun surprise. Also no one asked but I love that Skorts are a thing in our adulthood and that quicksand really wasn’t a big deal.
Definitely a keeper, this one. It is a French Terry feel, slightly stretchy too. Drawstring waist, not too adjustable but you could tighten it a little. I am in the large, love the fit. Size up in in between sizes only.
