I probably should have seen this coming to be honest, but I am surprised by how much I love matching with Gems. It’s actually quite more of a challenge than I thought it would be. Sure we can complement our outfit colors — and we do, you better believe we do and Bryan is invited as well — but matching our outfit exactly is definitely a challenge. So all I wanted this year for Mother’s Day besides a well-planned out brunch, coffee in bed, 3 hours to myself, an unseen Netflix series that magically appears and a new outfit to wear to said brunch (surprise me!), were photos of me and Gems in matching dresses that I could frame.
It looks like I will get exactly one thing I asked for this year. 😉
Nordstrom has actually made it super easy to find matching outfits for mamas and littles (well everyone in the family actually not just mamas!) and the good news is they are actually pieces you want to wear. We’ve leveled up on the matching, ok? Like this dress is gorgeous on it’s own and would be perfect for spring events (any brides out there??), so if there isn’t a little one to match ya or your kid straight up refuses, then get your pretty dress on. We will be wearing these on our family beach vacation later next month, because I am going to milk this matching stage as long as I can. I am in the medium of the dress, it runs slightly big. I would say if you are in between sizes definitely size down a size. For me, a solid 8, I like the medium.

OR if you’d like to schedule a time to shoot with Gemma because she’d be more than willing to twirl and pose. I always said that I’d never force her to shoot photos; if she didn’t want to then it was a NO. But, as you can see, that is *not* the problem. She ALWAYS wants to take photos; Leo’s gonna Leo. I have so many photos of her at the beginning of our shoots that we take just to let her think she’s in the photo shoot. I should start posting those actually, but I digress.
Gemma’s dress also runs true to size. She is a tall for her age (43″ if you can believe!) and the size 5 is perfect for her. She is in 5/6 clothes now so I’d say it’s true to size. Find the little girl’s matching dress here.
(Also if you have a baby or toddler, look at this set here!!)
I wanted to link a few of the matching options. This fabric, which has a raw embroidered flower pattern all over, comes in a few different styles. I’ve linked it below along with other family matching options from Nordstrom!
