Do I think that you’ll hate these pants? Yes. Yes I do. And is there a voice in the back of my head saying ‘keep it positive, Kendi…and they’ll keep it positive, too” (in the same vein as ‘just be nice to the gentleman, Fancy, they’ll be nice to you” — Reba) But let’s be real — sometimes I’m gonna like things you don’t like and vice versa. That’s just the way it is with friends, ok? We are friends and we can disagree. We don’t all have to like the same things. For me, I like complicated pants that have a questionable fit and terrible reviews. Why? Who knows why I like the things I do. Same goes with why I pained my finger and toenails a very bright green this week. Did the nail tech ask me THREE times if this was what I wanted, leaving suspicion hanging thick in the air? Yes, yes he did. Same as you asking me if I really like these pants — yes, yes I do.
In fact, these are the same pants that were in my capsule! Look, I’ll level with you: they kinda make my back half look like a mistake, but as I’ve said before — if I can’t see it, I don’t care about it. Pretty sure this is where the concept of ‘out of sight, out of mind’ came from but I could be wrong. So let’s stop talking shit about them and get to the pros: I really like this fabric. It’s a tech fabric, which if you read the reviews everyone else hates. But it’s a lightweight fabric if nylon and poplin had a baby, that’s what it would be like. However it makes them actually quite versatile with a quick change of shoes. You can’t say that for all trousers. I also like that you can wear them wide leg or tapered — there is a button at the ankle in the back that gives you those options. I am in the 8 and they are slightly more fitted at the waist / hips for me. You can find them — on sale at Madewell — here!
Okay but can I talk you into this bodysuit, perhaps? It’s so soft and stretchy that the only way I can describe the fabric is by saying they feel exactly like seamless underwear. I’m sorry but it’s true. Thicker than underwear, but that soft, cool stretchy fabric creates a really nice spring / summer weight bodysuit. I sized up to a large or a 3 in GA for more length and glad I did! If you have boobs + a long torso, size up! Find it here.
OH! And PS – I found the best dupe for my Chloe tote. Under $200 here.
