Date Night Dress under $35

Well, this may be the tightest dress I’ve ever worn. And it’s not even *that* tight, like I can breathe because it’s a stretchy cotton blend. No organs were crushed during this outfit shoot. But it’s definitely body con in the best way. You see those little strings at the bottom? Those strings make this dress adjustable and they can make the dress tighter / looser and shorter / longer. It’s a *CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE* DRESS, you guys. And as you can see from these photos, my right side chose a little bit of a bolder, shorter look than my left side. Bless my heart, 11 years on the internet and still a mess.

Pro tip: adjust the length of the dress in a mirror so that both sides are even.

So user error aside, this dress is a great date night option if I’ve ever seen one. Date night without a kid though. With a kid I’d leave the strings at the lowest length and add a jean jacket and just go ahead and squirt some Chick-Fil-A sauce on me as a head start. I am in the large but I don’t think you have to size up unless you like more wiggle room. I’d say a large is good for an 8-10. I do like this but it’s a bit big for me. So I’d say stay true to size, unless you are in between then size up. But overall it’s great fit, nice thick fabric that doesn’t necessarily ‘hold’ you in but gives the dress shape. // Okay so I know you’re gonna as so let’s talk about what’s under the dress. I am wearing a strapless bra here but you can wear a regular bra if you aren’t a masochist like me. Then I’m wearing Spanx High Power Shorts  as a smoother because you could see lines if I wore regular underwear. I would suggest some type of extra shapewear just because it’s tight enough to see underwear lines, but overall the fabric is flattering and doesn’t cling weirdly! //
