This look is a two-in-one. The one without the cardigan is inspo for now, the one with the cardigan is more for early fall, whenever that may be for you. But no matter when you wear it, this outfit has lots of basic pieces that are great for year round. Let’s break this outfit down!
Not So Skinny Jeans
These are the Levi’s Ribcage Jeans and I grabbed them up on sale from Amazon. (They’re $69 right now! This is not a drill!) I am still Team Skinny Jeans, they will forever have my heart and my legs, but I didn’t get the nickname Trendy Kendi for nothing. The internet has trends, I will follow. But if you are denim curious and you’d like to try another look of jeans for fall, start with a good quality pair but at a lower price, which is where Levi’s comes into play. Great quality, great fits, trend forward but somehow still classic. I love the Ribcage Straight Leg jeans and here is why: They are flattering, comfortable with a hint of stretch, and the straight leg doesn’t feel too trend-heavy. I find they have a teeny tiny kick around the hem, which makes them just a step out from a skinny jeans.
I size up one in Ribcage because I have a rounder waist, so I’m in the 29. (For reference, I wear 28s in Levi’s 501.) You can find them on sale here!
Good White Tee
This is a Vince tee I bought on sale this summer during Prime day. I love finding high quality staples on sale during promos like that — always look for the best brands when sites run sales like that. Anyways, Vince makes the best tees — they wash out and wear beautifully. This one is a fitted crewneck, so if you want a looser fit size up one. I am in the medium. Also, can we get a round of applause that this tee is non-sheer?? A true unicorn of a white tee.
However, I also love white tees from Madewell. Their whisper tees are great basics to buy, so I’m going to link them here too! I wear a medium in their tees, a little bit of a looser fit at the arms than what I’m wearing here.
Neutral Cardigan
Aye-yi-yi … you are going to choke on your coffee when you click through on this Vince cardigan. LOOK — It was my big splurge from the Anniversary Sale but I think it may own me now. I think it was 50% off though — at least that’s what I’m telling myself. (If you want me to sell you on it it’s literally like putting a the softest blanket on earth right on your body and I have no regrets.) But don’t fret — I found two very, very similar cardigans for well under $100; turns out a neutral, grandpa style cardigan is IN this fall so I’ve got some options for you. (Swipe through above for more options!)
This one here is the closet look I could find under $100!
Simple Accessories
I have a few accessories I wear daily and this mix of necklaces and oversized hoops are on constant rotation. And while they are simple that make a statement that says chic and pulled together. You don’t need a ton of accessories to make the look, in fact less is more when you are dressing up a white tee. Let the white tee be the focus and simply complement the tee with flecks of gold jewelry, and a neutral purse and shoes. I’ve linked my go-to’s above!

The best secret t-shirt source is Uniqlo mens supima cotton. I think they run about $10, and the quality is better then the most overpriced women’s t’s. They feel like silk, not sheer.
