I’ll be real — this skirt is kind of out of my comfort zone, but that’s quite alright isn’t it? Sometimes it’s good to wear things that surprise you. I love a body con look but I’ve never quite felt comfortable in the trend myself. I’ll buy a body con dress every so often only to talk myself out of it and return it to the store. I’m probably most comfortable in a looser fitting dress or let’s be honest, jeans, but I loved the fit of this striped skirt and it sold me. It’s definitely stretchy and fitted, but it isn’t clingy and I found that it hides underwear lines well. Plus I love the high waisted aspect of it as well, mainly because I was sad about this cropped tank being SO cropped. But I found the perfect companion for it.
Since this skirt is pretty tight, tucking in a shirt will create bunching or bulk. So a cropped top or tank is a PERFECT option for this skirt because it still covers but doesn’t create any extra bumps at the top of the skirt where a tucked in shirt would. And just when I thought I was going to have to send this cropped tank back to Amazon, it came through for me. I am in the medium of the tank and it is true to size but hear me when I say cropped. It hits right below my bra line. If I were going to buy this again, I would size up to a large for more length. Find this tank here!
(Loft has a very similar tank to this one that I wore last week! It is full length, not cropped. Find it here.)
What about you — do you ever dress out of your comfort zone just to scare yourself a little? I think for me a cropped tank + a midi skirt is pretty dang exciting. I know, I know — I live such a wild life. 😉
