Every fall and winter I completely flip to dark neutrals and refuse any color in my wardrobe, even my workout clothes. I (figuratively) pack up my colorful spring and summer wardrobe, grab my cloak and return to the dark forest of neutrals for about 6 months. It’s my version of hibernation. I am not even exaggerating here — I want absolutely nothing to do with color. I snootily shun my colorful yoga pants and tanks from the past spring, asking myself ‘will I really want to wear these again?’ threatening to donate them or give them to my color loving mom, as I slip on my all black outfit. And then March 1 comes around with the sunshine and right on schedule I start to reach for those colorful leggings in my closet. I laugh because it happens every single year. This September I again will shame these mint leggings for even existing and then next spring I’ll be so happy to see color again. I may be dramatic but at least I’m predictable.
After noticing this half-a-decade long habit, I have become very aware of these patterns and it made me hesitant to buy these mint workout leggings. But I kept coming back to them, loving this light mint hue. I thought why not — it’s from Amazon so returns are easy and I know I like the brand. Plus who doesn’t want to be in head to toe mint green? Looking fresh…literally. Like a piece of produce in this two piece set. That’s right — the tank matches exactly which is a dream come true for someone like me. If it’s a match, I’m gonna latch.
I am in the medium of the tank and the leggings. Listen up because the sizing is a bit off. The tank I think might run a bit generous because mediums in sports bras are usually not for me. (I’m typically a large in sports bras.) This one is just a little bit loose but overall a great fit for me. So I would say if you have a smaller chest, you could easily size down. (You can see the space between the tank and my leggings here, but it’s not too cropped. It has right at the waistband of the leggings and doesn’t show my tummy unless I raise my hands. I lifted it here because when we were shooting it looked like a onesie and that’s not the look I wanted.) The leggings however I find run generous. You can also see they are a bit long on me (note the pooling at the ankles a bit). I am in the medium and I wouldn’t ‘t size down because I like this fit, but they certainly are’t too tight.
Find the Core10 leggings here.
Now this crop top is exactly what I was looking for. Yet another sentence I never thought I’d say at 36 years old. But the more I train, the more I realize that loose hanging tees just get in my way but I also want to be covered. So I really like this combo — a long sports tank with a cropped top over. You could easily wear this top without a tank under as well, but my tummy shows and it just makes me a bit uncomfortable when working out. But with the tank, it’s perfect! I size up to a large for more length and I absolutely love the fit. It’s super soft and washes out well.
