Last week on IG I did a Target try on haul (at home! NOT in store) and this dress was the top seller from the try on and I have to say you all have great taste. This Target dress is a soft cotton and just absolutely so comfortable. It’s a nice for now and for later dress. At my desk right now and later by the pool. (Yep, I wear light summer dresses as coverups — what about you?)

It’s a bit chilly this week — and by a bit chilly I mean we are back in the 30s overnight so I wanted to wear a soft and cozy sweater today and thought why not over this dress? This dress is so comfortable to wear it’s definitely in the day pajama category. The only thing about this sweater + dress combo is that the neckline is high — think an almost mock neck (see it on the model here) and this sweater is actually a v-neck sweater. Want to know a little trick that will make you go ‘why didn’t I think of that?’

Just turn your sweater around and problem solved. I toss my hair over it so you can’t really see the v-neck but I actually kind of like the interest it adds to the look. Plus from the front you wouldn’t be the wiser. What do you think about this styling trick? And I you are wondering how I’m getting the sweater to stay ‘cropped’ because it’s not a cropped sweater, this fabric is a popcorn fabric so it’s kind of ‘sticky’ in a velcro-sense and it stays in place, especially on a sturdier fabric like this cotton dress.

I am in the medium of the dress and it fits true to size. It’s a bit clingy around my middle but I like this size. Size up if you want this dress really really loose other wise it is true to size. Find it here. The sweater is one size and fits a bit oversized and honestly perfectly. While it would look different on different bodies / sizes, I think it could work from a size 2 – 12. You can find this sweater here!

  1. Oh my goodness – when I was in 9th grade, I wore a v-neck button up cardigan backwards because I thought it was cool. Pretty sure I got some teasing for it, but what is fashion without trying new things?
    Nicely done!
