It has been surprisingly cool here lately which reminds me of the east coast during summer. I like to pretend that we have cool summer nights here but after this month, this beautiful cool but sunny weather will end and we all know it. But I love a good summer sweater with shorts. It’s the best mix of spring and summer in one outfit. This striped sweater caught my eye and it’s perfect for this Memorial Day weekend. It’s so oversized and cozy, it makes me wish we were back in Maine. I keep telling B I wish I could snap my fingers and go back, but the good news is when we can go back we will have another little passenger to take and show. And I have a feeling that trip will be even better than the last.
These shorts have been a life saver already and its not even officially summer yet! The maternity version still has a few sizes left and the regular version are almost sold out but I found similar ones at Club Monaco as well! (Oh and actually here are some similar from Alice + Olivia!) So it seems that scallop shorts are in full supply for summer.
A few people have asked about my Apple Watch band, since I’ve been wearing it more in outfit photos. Usually I wear the sport band and try to remember to take it off for photos, but realized that I’d really like a band I can wear all the time and it looks okay with normal outfits. I bought the Apple brand of the leather band and love it. (I do wish the buckle was gold like my watch but it’s such a minor detail that it was not a deal breaker for me.) I try my hardest to get all of my steps in while being pregnant and wearing my watch all the time has helped remind me to do it. So anyways, if you were wondering why I’m wearing it all the time — that’s why! Here is the Apple Watch band I have and here is another version from Amazon!

I find it so hard to find a good summer sweater! Yours is perfect! I love the stripes and definitely looks functional for Chicago’s odd weather changes!

Oh that’s a lovely striped knit! 🙂 I like those days where it’s not too warm yet and you can get away with a knit and shorts, it’s rare for the weather to be like that here in BRisbane so I take advantage and wear this kind of outfit when I can! 🙂

I was immediately drawn to this sweater but then was kind of bummed to see that it’s Cupcakes and Cashmere…because I realized it’s just a knock off of an Isabel Marant Etoile sweater that she owns. The original is so cute, but it drives me crazy when bloggers/celebs get to “design” a line and then it turns out their pieces are just bad copies of quality clothing. Also, it’s really expensive for a knock off! Forever 21 did a very passable version for like $25…
