#Nsale: Best Basic Buys

We are t-minus two days from the full access Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I keep finding so many good pieces! That is what I like about this sale, there is something for everyone — it’s the sale that keeps on giving. (This year is hands down one of the best I’ve seen, too!) But when I think about the depth of this sale and their inventory, it can be quite hard to navigate and a bit overwhelming if you don’t have a plan. So I’ve tried to put together my favorite things in different categories throughout this week — Now and Later picks, Beauty Buys, and today’s post — the closet basics. Every closet needs good basics from denim to layering pieces to easy to wear blouses. There are so many good options but I’ve slimmed down my picks to these perfect essentials. A few notes:

  • Camel is always a good idea in fall and I love all of the camel colored options, but they seem to be going fast! I love this cardigan here and this sweater here. (side note — I’ve noticed with anniversary sale that if something sells out fast, give it a few days and check again! Returns usually gives a few extra sizes on a favorite.) 
  • I think I’ve said this before — yes, absolutely I’ve said this before — but denim, denim, denim is always good when it’s on sale. My favorite brands are Hudson, AG, and Rag & Bone. You just can’t go wrong when investing in denim. (I find all of those brands true to size!)
  • I know it’s hard to think about putting a jacket or a coat on, BUT I love love love this camel coat. Could it be any cuter — and it’s under $150. Unreal. Also available in black! I also love this tweed Theory number, so cute.
  • I love stocking up on tees and knits and the best part is that they are all in different colors. I like to stock up on white, grey and black but the sky is the limit. There are so many great knits on sale and most are under $25! Find those knits here. My two favorites — this high low hem tee and this deep v-neck white tee.
  • Last but not least, there are so many silk tops on sale. This is the time to stock up on quality pieces that you can wear year round. Silk tops and blouses are abundant in this sale, I’ve of course linked my favorites above but a few stand outs — this Vince Silk Layered Top and this short sleeve Classiques Top. Such good pieces to have for work!
