Break the Rules

This dress has been a go to since I picked it up this summer. Initially I thought this was a perfect summer dress but the cooler it gets the more I’m realizing how easily it transitions into fall. It’s not so white that it can only be a summer dress. Of course I’m not a firm believer in ‘no white after Labor Day’.  I like to throw out most of those silly seasonal rules anyways. Wear what you like, when you like. That’s my favorite rule of all.

Of course, pairing a moto jacket over pretty much anything updates the look for fall. If you wonder why I like fall so much this is why: it is hands down the easiest season to dress for. (Well, easiest that is if you like layers and jackets and boots. I suppose this is subjective to the things you like to wear. If you like to wear sundresses and sandals, I can see your aversion to fall and other seasons that require a bit more pieces.) But for me, I love any season that let’s me easily transition the past season’s clothes into the current. Throw on a jacket or boots and you’ve changed a summer dress to a fall dress. Done and done. Also this just proves my previous theory correct that you just can’t go wrong with a white dress, no matter what the season.
