Remember last fall when I got to sit in a few shows at fashion week with big deer eyes, trying to take everything in a much as possible? Well, one of those trends I noticed was gingham for this spring. It was everywhere on the runway, so I knew it had to be a hot trend for spring. And my forecasting was right. (Okay, technically *not* at all forecasting because many someones saw this being a trend long before me and decided to design whole collections around it.) But every once in a while when a print or a fabric comes back for spring, I’m like yes! Why have we not been wearing gingham all along? That’s how I feel about gingham this spring. It’s the happiest, most picnic friendly pattern in the world. Nothing says spring like gingham to me. (Okay, yes. Behind florals but that’s an obvious.)
Since I was on the lookout for gingham this spring anyways, I was happy to see this MBMJ dress at Nordstrom in an abstract kind of gingham print. Since it’s pale pink, the gingham print makes it not too sweet but sweet enough.  Like if gingham could be tough, this would be about as tough as it gets. (Actually this dress also comes in black, so maybe that’s as tough as it gets.) I just love spring dresses though, so I’m happy to be able to start wearing them again. Get ready, because I feel like this spring all I’ll want to wear is dresses. You’re going to be seeing a lot of those knees so get used to them.

  3. Gingham is one of my favorite prints and I'm so glad that it's a trend that will be around this spring season. The abstract gingham print on that dress is absolutely gorgeous, and I love how you added a casual element to your outfit by tying a cardigan around the waist.

  4. This is a great spin on the traditional gingham! (Typically I hear gingham, I automatically think Dorothy from Wizard of Oz). I love the pale pink, and almost that white watercolor-esque bordering. So different. Smart choice!

  5. I love this dress, but I have to be honest, I couldn't stop looking at your shoes. I love them!!

  6. That is a really cute dress, and such a ncie print! Also lovely paired with the grey cardi 🙂

I wore loads of dresses over spring too – there is something so nice about being able to go bare-legged after having to layer up a bit over winter. I'm going to try wear dresses more over the cooler months too with boots and tights. Although I might have a while for that yet, although it is Autumn here Brisbane is still baking in summer sun and temperatures!

  7. Only you could pull off tying a sweater around your waist and completely rock it.
