Each spring I’m reminded of the sarcastic line in Devil Wears Prada when Anna Wintour-esque editor Miranda Priestly says “Florals? for spring? Groundbreaking.” when presented with new ideas for the spring issue. I think of this every time I gravitate towards florals…for spring because I just can’t help it.
Spring prints and colors are just so happy and flowery and well, for lack of a better term, springy. So florals for spring it is for this girl. (I mean for goodness sake I named my store ‘bloom.’ I think it’s safe to say that I love florals. It’s also safe to say that I’m much better with printed flower arranging than with real flower arranging.)
I love this print so much I had a hard time picking between this skirt, the pants and the top. Heck, if J.Crew made a sofa in this fabric I’d probably buy it. Of course I’d have to mortgage the house I don’t own but I’d find a way.
Can you believe this sweatshirt from Old Navy? I know, I know…take a second to collect yourself. I was literally on my way out of the store when I spotted this gem and went right back to the check-out, sweatshirt in hand. No shame in the game, not when it comes to cute shirts.

HI, Kendi, you look so sexy in this outfit, I love when women dress like that, very feminine, elegant and chic, the skirt is very beautiful, can also go beautifully with denim shirt, what do you think? Have a great week!
<3 Love, Zhanna, http://www.stylehenge.com
p.s. how about following each other? <3
I sarcastically say that line every time I put on something floral in the spring time! I knew I wasn't alone. Your skirt and bag just belong together – they compliment each other beautifully.

That cut out top is so nice! 🙂
Love the floral print on that pencil skirt too 🙂
Away From Blue
I love, love, love the colors here. I'm the type of person who will wear florals in the winter so I can pretend it's spring hah.

Groundbreaking or not, I'm digging it. If there ever comes a spring when we DON'T wear florals, that would be very sad.

The skirt was an excellent choice; it was my favorite out of the three! I'm keeping my eye out for a cute floral top to buy for the spring. And yes, I was shocked when I saw that sweatshirt was from Old Navy – they outdid themselves!

This skirt is BEAUTIFUL! I love how you paired it with a textured top, a more conservative person would have gone solid. I love that you took a risk – it works!

1) yay for spring! It's my favorite clothes' season. 2) yay for the helpful packing post! Thank you:) 3) I went ahead and ordered these shoes ^^ from bloom in a half size smaller, (my reg. size sold out) and they fit perfectly!! I love them. 4) I LOVE your new "what I'm buying" board on Pinterest. So glad you're doing that. 5) this look is so great, and I also loved the outfit you put together with the C'est la vie J.Crew tee recently. Such a pretty floral print. 6) I think I'm done listing now… 😉
Hah, I always think of that line, too! Similar to how, when I'm stuck behind a slow walker, I always think, "By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me."
That print on that skirt is just so pretty! Maybe it's not groundbreaking but it's too pretty to pass up.

Um, no I can't believe that sweatshirt is from Old Navy! It's gorgeous!
There's just nothing better than a good floral to kick start Spring!
that was one of my favorite quotes from the movie as well 🙂
in love with that skirt!!

that bag is the shit.
Love the texture of the sweatshirt- so perfect with the floral skirt!
Love the mix of high and low brands here! And it goes without saying that the skirt would also look fab with a striped top! 🙂
This whole outfit is perfect. The floral skirt, the pointy wedge heels (btw I need those), the perforated sweater, and light blue kate spade purse. Seriously in love. It is amazing how many trends you were able to mix into one outfit without it looking overboard. I might have to use this as an inpiration. Thank you xo -ellese http://rockpaperglam.com/
That sweatshirt is definitely more "J Crew" than Old Navy, but they have some gems you just need to dig for a bit more.

Something About That
I discovered that sweatshirt at the last second at Old Navy too! I got the navy.
I love that sweatshirt! It looks similar to one I have from J.Crew but I might have to get it in a different color.

I have just realized who you remind me of! Michelle Dockery (A.K.A. Lady Mary from Downton Abbey). I just finished watching the finale–so clearly I am an expert. 🙂 You are her with a springy, floral twist that I am certain even Anna Wintour would approve.
Lovely look! I like your skirt 🙂
My Fantabulous World
LOL I do remember that line from the movie. But hey, I think that skirt is just absolutely perfect for spring, so cliche or not, I say yay for florals!
Loving that floral pencil skirt…what a great piece to have year-round!
