{Dress: Here | Blazer: Similar | Tote: c/o Joie | Sunnies: c/o Coach | Bracelet: Kristin Hassan}
If the blazer over a dress trick ever goes out of style, I’m done. It’s the easiest outfit to look pulled together. No one would ever know that in my morning frenzy I had pulled every piece of clothing off ever hanger and thrown them in a pile the size of a small bean bag chair. A hot mess of a pile that will take me at least two weeks to clean up.
Now you see why it’s a winning combo, yes?

I don't know how I've made it 27 years without a blazer. I'm going out and getting one right now! Or at least soon. Or at least when I get my next paycheck 😉 Clearly I love the look.

Kendi, you always look so adorable in all outfits! I love the combo with your snake skin heels! Totally cute!
Wow, I adore those shoes… and the teal. I wonder if I can put together something similar in my closet!
I'm loving structured jackets too. I just wish it gets a little cooler here in Fresno to pull it off. You look great as always 🙂
Looks great! Love the colours, and that blazer really makes you look like you spent a lot more thought on your outfit 🙂
Very cute outfit, I really like the teal. And I know what you mean – when in doubt grab a dress and throw on something that resembles a jacket!

That's a super elegant outfit!
I love blazers over dresses, they save me so often!

Love your shoes. When did you get that blazer at Target? Recently? I was at the Target in McKinney on Tuesday and they have some blazers out that have a chevron pattern on the inside, so when you roll the sleeves….adorable!

shoooooooeeees. Â i know that's not a real word. Â just wanted to really get it across that i love your shoooooeeees.
So cute! Your makeup and hair look fabulous in these pics. And that tote is adorable. I don't think I even knew that Joie made bags?!

You look soooo elegant! I've never had the right dress to wear under a blazer, but that natural waist look is perfect. Love the shoes, too!!
Those shoes are SO rad!!

Love it!
Winning combo for sure! All day, every day! 🙂 And your hot mess pile secret is safe with me – as long as you don't tell anyone I sat in my closet for 10 minutes staring at my clothes pondering what on earth the weather would let me wear today – then ended up with boots and a sweater, even though it's supposed to be 85. o_O

Those shoes are amazing. I wish I could wear heels. I hurt my foot a while back and it just isn't happening for me anymore. However, I have some amazing flats. Not quite the same…
Simplicity at its finest! I love the combo. Isn't it funny how when we're in a crunch for time, it just works out? And when you have all the time in the world things just don't look right?Â

Something tells me that even if blazer-over-dress goes out of style, that's not gonna stop you from wearing it. Nor should it. Lovely as always!

What is this lip color? I've been looking for an everyday "fall" color and I am in love! If it happens to be your natural color with gloss, you lucky duck. 🙂
It's true… when I have time, I would never reach for cardigan/dress or blazer/dress but they're perfect for work in a pinch.Â

haha I do that all the time too! must be a fashion blogger thing 😉 you rock girl!

I love a blazer + dress combo. Â It will never go out of style! Â I love a blazer and anything, though. Â Those shoes are fabulous too! Â Oh and the whole pull out everything to try when getting ready? Like a weekly thing for me if I haven't already planned in advance what I am going to put on.Â
Amazing outfit ! Love that dress, such a great color !

I love the dress and blazer combo too. And almost every morning I have a pile of clothes on the bed too. Â You look beautiful!

Has anyone ever told you could be the brunette Tori Spelling? I didn't notice until this post (3rd picture)!
Cute!
sweet & simple! love it.
Ha — no, no not my natural lip color. It's Revlon Just Bitten Balm in Crush. http://www.target.com/p/revlon-just-bitten-kissable-balm-stain/-/A-14081320?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=Google_PLA_df&LNM=%7C14081320&CPNG=health%20beauty&ci_sku=14081320&ci_gpa=pla&ci_kw=
Thanks, hun! I agree it does take the right dress for the look to work. I always have to have a fitted waist dress or at least make a waist with a belt.
Love your shoes! Gorgeous outfit!

Wonderful outfit!
I totally know what you mean. I have a huge pile going on in my closet with no sign of it getting cleaned up anytime soon.Â
love the outfit! what lipstick are you wearing?
Really cute and I agree – its a combo that must NEVER go out of style. I may have to pull off something similar tomorrow 🙂
Those heels are amazing!!!!!
i love the colours of the dress and blazer together 🙂
Your outfit is wonderful but I was also hoping to see if you could give any info about your necklace? Thanks!
Cute outfit! I like very much your shoes and bag!

Such a pulled together look! And ooohhh those shoes! 🙂
Sure — the initial B necklace is from my shop, Bloom, and the circle necklace was a gift from my husband from a local boutique called Nan Lee Jewelry. 🙂
Its Revlon Lip Stain! http://www.target.com/p/revlon…
I love the blazer over dress combo!! I try to sport that at least once every two weeks. 🙂

Not at all related to this post- but I'm going to NYC in a few weeks and I know you were just there so I'd love any store recommendations you may have 🙂 Our style is similar & I love everything @ Bloom (just bought the camel moto!) so let me know if you get a chance!
Did someone on the inside tell you blazer + dress has had it's day?! *PANICS*
Any reference to a Jack Johnson song is a win. And so is your outfit. LOVE the shoes. 🙂

Do you still carry the inital pendant at Bloom? I would love to order one.
love the shoes 🙂

Hahaha no, no. I just fear the day that this isn't a classic ensemble 😉 From what I can tell — we are in the clear.Â
A blazer is a girl's best friend! You can quote me on that if you want 🙂
Shoot an email to info@bloomdowntown.com! We have a few in stock 🙂
Oh gosh, let's see what I know…I didn't shop too much this time but I did hit up Zara and Joe Fresh (you must) which is on 5th avenue, close by the NY Public Library. I'm sure there are other locations in the city as well, so just google it once you get there. It's fabulous, my friend. Other than that I'd say go to Soho and walk around down there — great boutiques and shops and a great area. The new Piperlime storefront opened up, there is a fantastic Madewell down there as well as the new TopShop! You should also hit up this little place in the west village I believe called Poppy NYC. It's an adorable boutique. Bleeker street has a lot of little shops as well. (While you are there, stop in at Magnolia Bakery!) Oh and there is a store called C. Wonder which is a new shop that I missed on my last trip but wanted to check out! I believe it's on 5th, but I'm not for sure. If you just walk 5th down to Central Park you will find all sorts of shopping. If you are looking for home things Fishes Eddy and ABC Market ( I believe that's what it's called.) are both great places. And one more — Chelsea Market. Go explore and grab lunch there. (There's a fantastic Anthropologie nearby, too! I really should be an international shopping guide, right? 😉
I bought them this spring from TJ Maxx so I don't think they are around anymore. But if you google Nine West Snakeskin sandal, I did see a few ebay links to the same pair!
Gorgeous pics. Love this bloom dress and nine west heels together! Perfect combo.

I agree, blazers and dresses make the best of friends. Also, your little story made me giggle because I go through the same thing sometimes. Why is it that it takes ten times longer to put things back then it does to make a mess of them? One of the many things I'll never understand!!Â
I've always been more of a cardigan girl, but my best friend gave me one of her black blazers this past spring and it may be one of the greatest things she's ever done for me (well, style-wise at least).

Love this look and you look different here! maybe the hair?Â
I agree, it is a winning combo!!! =D You look great and I love the colour of that dress =D

You really should! Thanks for all the tips 🙂 Now I'm really looking forward to the trip! Last time I was in NYC, I had been in the city all of 30 minutes before I made my first purchase at Anthropolgie. It's a problem. I've had my eye on Joe Fresh for awhile now, so it's about time I get into a store!
You're beautiful!

glad to see my floor is not the only one with a heap of clothes on it….Â
Definitely an easy outfit to put together but when you add those heels and that super cute tote it makes it look very well thought out!! 🙂

I take out all my clothes looking for something to wear and just end up in jeans and a t. Hopefully I can get better and pull out something lovely like this. You're so pretty!
Can't wait until the next 30 for 30! Wish I had learned about it earlier so I could have participated!

Wow your legs are rockin' in this picture (from a totally straight female POV). I totally agree about the dress + blazer thing, although I'm actually more a cardigan + dress fan just cuz I look "cute" rather than "cool". You look great though and the dress color is amazing!
love those shoesÂ

Why you so good looking? 😉
Why I didn't wear a blazer with my dress yesterday, I have no idea. Must not neglect my blazers!
Hahaha – that is totally me every morning too. My poor desk chair is always drowning in clothes!Â
Love this outfit – especially the shoes! So cute!

Never tried a blazer over a dress! Hmmm… Got my mind thinking 🙂 My go to outfit on a crazy day is a plain tee with a scarf and pumps. Pretty much wear that all the time!!!
glad I'm not the only one who makes the mess then just stares at it for two weeks until I finally trip over it in my early morning haze…
love those shoes!
Love this look Kendi! I am going to try it for work next week!
