“I live in a small town and have a small clothing budget to match. Just because I don’t have the means or monies to build a huge designer wardrobe doesn’t mean I can’t have style. Where inspiration lacks, creativity prevails.
Why I Remix?
Because I can. In the not so distant past, I used to have a handful of favorite outfits that I would wear and re-wear, exactly the same way every time. That was dull and unsustainable. Eventually, it left me feeling really bored and unsatisfied with my wardrobe. Which, of course, led to more frustration as my budget didn’t allow for constant spending. Now, I’m loving the variety and simplicity that remixing offers. Yes, I can have endless possibilities with finite pieces. Yes, I can have style without breaking the bank. And yes, I can get dressed in less than 15 minutes, because there’s only so much to choose from. The latter has been the most resonating perk of the 30 for 30 challenge. At first, I was afraid of limiting myself, but now I find it freeing. Knowing exactly what’s there and how it fits makes getting dressed in the morning so much easier. So, yes. I remix because I can.”

Thanks so much, Kendi! Looks awesome! Unfortunately, I don't know how to spell monies. Fail.
Love this feature and Kyla's responses. Her remix skills are superb. – Katy
Ack! And apparently I don't know how to spell check or edit before I post. I'm on it, Kyla. 😉

i do because of budget & if you look in any european lady's closet, you'll see she has few pieces that can be worn a dozen ways. i'm not european, but i like to pretend i am. on tuesdays.
Great Interview.

I love Kyla's blog, have been following her remix adventure through Twitter and fell in love with her adorable little dog this week 🙂
Elle — I talk in a british accent on Tuesdays, too. We must be soul mates.
And to that I also say, I'm always so inspired by people who have a small collection and look stylish everyday.
I love Kyla and her amazing remixing skills – been following her blog for a while now and she never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and imagination when it comes to her closet! And she is able to pull off the most fabulous printed pants like no one else I know!! She's just awesome 🙂

I love Kyla's blog! I read it both of yours daily.
Love Kyla! Actually one of the first style blogs I ever started following!! Great feature!
I love this feature. I hadn't seen Kyla's remixes before so I'm heading there to check 'em out.
I'm thinking about majorly downsizing my closet after this challenge. I'm having a lot of fun remixing and I can't wait to start mixing up the rest of my clothes once the challenge is done!

Angela — I have been thinking the same thing! I just cleaned out and donated about 15 items already. Isn't it amazing at how your perspective changes during the challenge??
Jade — Kyla was one of my first style blogs too! Where would we be without dear Kyla, certainly not as stylish that is for sure.
