Someone asked me if I plan all of my outfits beforehand or if I just go with it. Well I certainly like to make a plan but sometimes you’ve just got to go with the flow. Like today the plan was…. not this outfit. I put plan ‘A’ on and it looked stupid, so here is plan ‘I just made it up now’. But for the most part when it comes to my remixes, I like to have a good idea of outfits that I can create. Because somedays the creative flow comes, other days I need a cheat sheet.
Also, Formspring and I have decided to part ways. It’s not you, it’s me. I can’t always get to all the questions and I start to feel unfair and mean. Oh and did I mention it’s a time-suck? I could spend hours on there but the line has to be drawn. So if you’ve got questions, I’ve got an email. 🙂
And this is what happens when I run out of poses:
Why yes, that is the ‘running man’ in the last two photos. Thank you for noticing.

you're daring. i love the lace skirt so much – and those shoes are fab.
great remixing so far!

You look so cute! Great day 4 pick!
Well this looks great, and good call on the, 'some times the creative flow comes and sometimes you need a cheat sheet.' SO TRUE!

PS – don't forget to remove your, '…or stop by my Formspring' in this lil' message for our comments 🙂
I predict that with this lace skirt you are going to make some of the best outfits!
Can I just say it's slightly refreshing to know that sometimes you have a few awkward photos (since that's all I've got!)? Love the outfit.
A.Co — thank you for being a friend. (sung to the golden girl's tune. I'll remove it asap!
Anne — Yes, awkward happens. I don't ever get embarrassed since its just my husband but awkward? ohhh yeah.
i love the whole outfit but the red shoes just add that extra BAM! lol!
so cute! love it, I had a pair of shoes just like those in green back in the 80's. amazing how the styles just go around and around.
Umm, your 'ran out of poses' poses look like my usable ones. Rough. Haha.
I'm really regretting not putting this skirt into my 30, too. It's just so versatile! You look fabulous as always.
I love that you are doing the running man. I think you should do the "cabbage patch" next. 😉
very cute. I love that lace skirt but it's too short for me and my work environment. 🙁
Huge fan of the leather + lace / brown + gray combo. SO complementary.
I'm having so much fun with the 30 for 30 challenge, by the way….and finding some new great blogs too!!
Also thanks for taking the time to answer my goofy questions via email – you were so helpful!
Nice running man 😉
Awesome Blog! I love your style!

Love the jacket and skirt combo, the contrast of fabrics and colors!
Kendi, I just LOVE this outfit and the scary thing is that our wardrobes are starting to overlap in a way in which I can snag a lot of your looks for myself. I don't know if this is good or bad!
You look great! I love the brown and grey combo. Also I running man almost everywhere instead of walking so it's all cool…
OK you are adorbs. That's all.
ohhhh love it!! I almost bought that skirt in olive green!! wish i had…
I think this may be my all-time favorite outfit of yours. Sleek, polished and sophisticated and two of the items came from Tar-Jay. Go on with your bad self.
oooh I wore a similar outfit this week! Lace skirt and suede moto jacket!!! I love your skirt though, the colour is amazing!
i am so jealous of that skirt – my target is all sold out!
LOVE this outift. Might be my very fave ever!
Beautiful combination!
I love this outfit! That skirt is so pretty

I think you should include the outtakes everytime, especially if they involve dance moves. Love it!
I'm kicking myself for not getting that skirt before this challenge! I also tried to score that t-shirt from the gap, but they didn't have my size. Oh well, I will dress vicariously through you.
Also, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who runs out of poses. When that happens, my husband and I usually just stand there staring at each other. It sounds romantic, but it's not really.

too cute! love those UO shoes!!
Your outfit today is adorable! Don't worry, I think I go through about four different outfits in the morning until I find the right one (because all of them "look stupid"). Sometimes I feel it's just best to throw something on, and go with the flow!
I love the combination. Those shoes are great- I spend a long time staring at them every time I go into the UO store.
Very cool. I love those lacy skirts. I need to get myself one! Perfect shoes, too!

Fabulous outfit. IU love leather/pleather mixed with lace!
i love that skirt!! looks great with the belt and all.
beautiful.
i wander, i wonder
Adorable! Good to know even you, queen of fashion blogs, have trouble with posing! Since I started 30for30, I've mastered about 1 fashion blog pose and bitterly clung to it. Hopefully my posing will branch out like my outfit skills have!

So, I found your blog the other day. And then I kept clicking "Older Posts" until all of a sudden it was two days later and piles of work were on top of my desk. Love your blog. You're super cute and witty. Aaaand, I want to buy those shoes.
Kendi, why are you so gosh darn adorable?
I love this look, but now I want those shoes and we can't shop. 🙁
I thought I was the only one that runs out of poses..Lol
Simple, cute, perfectly chic…love it all!
And I really want those shoes!
Lookin' good! Excellent running man! 🙂
your too cute. I love your blogs. I the same way. Some days I plan what I want to wear. Then there the days I just put an outfit together.

That skirt and those shoes are some of my favorite items from your closet. Double-whammy!
Uhmazing, as usual. It's funny, my Plan A's rarely work. It always seems to look so nice layered on the hanger. And then reality strikes when I realize I'm not size (-)1.

So many people are remixing that adorable skirt! Jealous…wish I had actually bought it the 3 times I put it in my cart at Target…
You're a wonderful poser! I'm stealing some your poses, in fact. 😉
You have the most gorgeous style! Love your blog!
your outfit is so simple and cute today!
http://www.candidclassic.blogspot.com
Geeezz I want that lace skirt! You look great! This outfit is perfect for everything! Gonna steal this one from you in the future!
oh you cute thing. i do believe i own the same target jacket AND skirt. you and me, dear? we are soul shoppers.
Kendi,
Just recently started reading and I thoroughly enjoy your blog. The outfits, the humor. It's great.
My husband and I just moved to Tejas after living in LA for several years so it's been a bit of a culture shock. Maybe more for my fellow teachers than me since one actually told me today that she always wonders, "What color will be on Adrienne's legs today?"
It's great to be able to identify with someone else!
Thanks for the great reading!
i DIE for that grey skirt…. D I E.

So cute! I am wishing I joined into this challenge now. I almost think it would make blogging easier … limit my options.
The leather and lace look great together. I wish it was still warm enough to have bare legs here!
I'm the same way with outfits. Some day I have the time and energy to plan them out and some days I am just plain lazy!
Love this!!

I love this outfit!
I had a request…I bought the PDF on the remix, but I wondered if you could give us some more tips. I am already feeling pretty overwhelmed and regretting some of my choices…I don't want to quit, but I feel like I need advice.
The skirt is so pretty. I love this entire outfit. Pairing browns and grays is so chic!
Every time I see a picture of those red heels I become insanely jealous. They're gorgeous!
Cute outfit! I think the lace skirt is 30 for 30's "it" piece . I've seen it on so many blogs.
This is an AWESOME Remix! Hard and Soft. Like it!
Hilariously, I was JUST about to get rid of my formspring too! It's not as helpful as I had once hoped!!
Love the outfit!!
I love that lace skirt, and I feel like I've been seeing it everywhere lately. Yesterday on What Would a Nerd Wear and today on A Simple Life. I want one!
How on earth did you get that skinny belt to stay in place with this skirt? Mine simply will not cooperate!
Love this outfit!
I like the red heels and the leopard print belt, Aunt Kendi!
Just Better Together
You always inspire me with new color combinations like that jacket and pumps or yesterdays belt and tights!
ditto. I plan my outfits almost everyday and almost never end up wearing what i planned!
Love, love, love that belt EVERY time I see it.
I've wondered if you were an outfit planner or a fly by the seat of your pants type of gal. All cleared up now.
Woo HOO
What a pretty outfit! I can't believe the skirt and jacket are from Target!
Well, I'm always a sucker for a short leather jacket (my mom has a suede one I've been trying to steal for eons. It's older than I am) and I love the lace skirt! Very cute!
You are so amazing! 😀 I love your outfits, and I am jealous of your trendy fashionness (I consider myself to be fashion-challenged).
I was linked to your blog by a friend, and I think I will be following you now. ;3
xx
Ohh, I have hundreds of shots of me running out of poses. Oh dear.
& isn't it awesome when outfits just happen? Especially good ones? Mhm, I think so.
My day four of the 30 for your viewing pleasure.

I love this outfit! Especially how the shoes just pop. 🙂
And I can definitely relate on the outfit planning. I try and choose my outfits the night before but 9 times out of 10 I change my mind in the morning, haha.
I'm also loving the 30 for 30 in general. I've found a ton of new blogs because of it and it's causing me to push my own fashion boundaries. Can't wait to see the rest of your 30!
Love this outfit….i need red pumps badly!
I have that skirt but didn't think to pair it with my leather jacket…will have to try!
Second Star
Neutrals + pop of color = Chelsea is a happy girl. this is my favorite outfit yet.
Oh what? this is only the fourth day? 🙂
This outfit is fantastic! love the lace with the leather.
dear crazy aunt kendi who takes pictures of herself everyday,
your poses are pretty incredible. also the fact that you manage to work those coral red pumps into every outfit imaginable really impresses me and makes me want to go to urban and snatch them up asap.
love,
your niece (naturally)

you look lovely as always =) love the lacey skirt and leather jacket combo!
So tomorrow it will be the sprinkler? Or the shopping cart? 😉
Cute outfit!
these styles on your post are totally my favorite, xoxo
Been there with putting on something you thought of and having it not work. Love the pop of red heels in your outfit. Very blog worthy.
I'm admiring the organisation, I've been winging it so far with the remix challenge but that might explain why I am sat here in my dressing gown completely stumped only 5 outfits in. Leather and lace is always a bit lush x
as always, gorgeous.
those red shoes of yours? those are quite possibly my most favorite shoes from you. you wear them during the most unexpected times. it's amazing how you put things together 🙂
thanks for putting up this challenge. five days in, and so many people have come together, some who don't even know each other and just getting to know each other and i've read nothing but fun, fab times. awesome.
Mrs Loaf — EMAIL ME!!!! I'd be MORE than happy to help a sister out.

My favorite outfit of the remix yet! The more i see this skirt the sadder i am that it REALLY didn't fit me right.
Love the out takes. My post from yesterday had out takes as well. But I've to say you still manage to look cute in yours 🙂
I love that the title of this post sounds like a sketchy Madame, but the outfit itself is lovely and classic.
I think I'm the only one in the world who doesn't own that Target skirt…. I love the pleather and lace combo! And those shoes are fantastic!
Love these remixes – you are so good at this, Kendi!
Happy weekend…
–Julia
I haven't seen an outfit I actually like this skirt with, until now. This is super cute.
Wow! This combo rocks! I absolutely love the leather/lace/suede together.
For those of you who want the grey lace skirt. – Target donated A TON of them to Goodwill. – I just picked it up brand new for $3 🙂
love the masculinity of the jacket with the femininity of the skirt!
