Good heavens you guys, it’s already the end of June. Most of the time I just pay attention to what day of the week it is but today I noticed that it was June 24th. I didn’t even realize it was June yet. Needless to say, I was shocked to find out that it was 2010 and not 1998. I’m a bit disappointed though. I thought we’d be in space cars by now.
Have I told you about this skirt before? This is a magical skirt for many reasons. One because it was $10 and two because it’s a size 4. And my friends, as much as I wish and bargain with my body, I am no size 4. Somehow I can squeeze my body into this skirt and it fits. Now I know how American Ferrera feels in that Sisterhood of the Stretchy Pants movie.
My husband just interjected and said “For real though. How do they all fit in those jeans?” This scares me and intrigues me at the same time that he knows so much about this movie. “Were they stretch pants? Because that would make sense.”
No my dear, they were magical traveling pants. Magical in the same sense that I shouldn’t have purchased a $10 skirt from Anthropologie a size too small. Dreams do come true, my friends, if you believe in Gossip Girl, Ugly Betty, Gilmore Girls and that girl from Joan of Arcadia.

  1. umm, I have a post scheduled for tomorrow, and it mentions the Sisterhood of the Traveling (travelling? that one gets me every time) and I don't want you to think that I copied you in the reference. I most definitely did not.

In fact, now I'm thinking you copied me?

    I like your skirt.

my husband also scares and intrigues me in his desire to understand the logic of both The Hills and the latest Hilary Duff made for tv movie.

  2. Bahaha,

I am obsessed with your sense of humour. I always laugh so hard when I read your blog.

And then i'm jealous of how gorgeous you always look. Pretty pretty girl.

    Melissa

  3. My girlfriends and I would watch SOTTP every year, reminds me we should do it again for old times sake!
You look gorgeous in the magical skirt.

  4. Gosh Kendi, how does your brain come with with such great things to write?! You definitely have a way with words. Something I wish I possessed. I love your humor too. I look forward to your posts because I know that I'll get a good laugh… or at least some giggles.

I can't believe you scored a $10 Anthro skirt! WTF. Lucky ducky. It looks fab on your size 4 hottie body… 🙂 Well hope you are well!

    xx Love & Aloha

  5. Ah, the glorious world of women's sizing, where I can where anything from a 2 (ha!) to a 14. Love it? Vintage is even nuttier.

Beautiful skirt, by the way…I love the colors!

  6. As a size 6-er, I totally understand the appeal of the size 4 and love that you were able to fit in to it! I love reading your blog and think you are SO beautiful and smart, whatever (and whatever size) you are wearing! Keep it up, chica!

  7. holy cow. that IS a magical skirt.

I own that same skirt. Also bought for $10 at anthro. Also a size 4 skirt. But get this:
I normally wear a size 0-2, but the 4 fits me magically well too.

It's totally like that movie(which I've never actually seen).
    eerie.

  8. Who cares about the numbers on the tags. You are gorgeous! I love how you found an anthro skirt all for only $10!

  9. I'm no evil witch to ruin the moments with your magic skirt and tell you the truth about clothing companies and sizing mistakes! No that's not me! 🙂
I love my magic clothes too!
    And I love your blog.

  10. skirt is so cute but i wish you showed the bag as well! the print looks pretty cute!

  11. Kendi you make me laugh so hard it hurts… and I LOVE that skirt! there's something so nice about a bargain and fitting into something super small – yay for you!

  12. The only thing I could think about the entire time I watched that movie! It was quite magical how the pants fit all four girls perfectly. Wouldn't it be great to own said magical pants? Then if your weight fluctuates, your pants are always the correct size. Now tell me, what could be more heavenly than that? Skinny jeans, fat jeans, mom jeans and period jeans all rolled into one!!! Not to mention the fact that they totally make hot guys like and kiss you, even when you are having a fat jeans day…….

  13. I had the very exact thought during the whole movie! Anyway, I love how the pictures have this old school tint to them – and the dress…reminds me of the 70's

  14. I have a magic skirt in my closet too and it taught me a great lesson – don't always go with what should fet but to try on more than one size to see what fits best.

  15. I swear, Anthro has the most MAGICAL SIZING. I have the same experience every time I go – under $30? Size 10 is too small! Over $100? Size 2 fits me perfectly. They clearly have some nefarious voodoo working overtime to prize my shrinking bank account away from me through shameless flattery. I'm glad you've got powerful counter-voodoo though, this is an awesome skirt for $10 and looks great on you!

  16. 1.) You look adorable in that outfit.
    2.) A $10 Anthro dress IS magical.
3.) I have not seen the movie- do the jeans really fit them all perfectly and yet they are all built differently? Because that seems to defy the laws of physics. Is that how it is in the book? I'm baffled and now I must watch that film.

  17. Kendi, Hi!
I've been following you for a few months now (was following with another account before, now I have my blog) and there is one thing I want to say so much: You look so much Turkish!!! Well I'm from Turkey so, I feel like you'll start writing in Turkish suddenly! I know, weird!!! But, one more thing: I loved your skirt and your styling! You look wonderful!

  18. Speaking of time, does anyone else feel that its moving much quicker than normal? I mean I'm in my mid 20's and it seems to me that time shouldn't seem like a blur.
Does anyone else feel like the last six to seven months haven't happend?

PS. Kendi thanks for answering my question about Anthro's Summer Wandering tank.

  19. Hey now, Gilmore Girls is for reals and for trues. I'm missin' me some Luke.

I have a size six behind and once had to buy stretch jeans in a size 13. I admit, it takes a bit of Maria Von Trapp's "I have Confidence" singing to put them on and reject the notion that I haven't Alice in Wonderlanded four sizes overnight.

  20. I worked at Express in college, and I swear they were running things a little large just to make ladies feel better about themselves. I still have a skirt that is a size 0 that fits — and I'm a 6!

I just love this whole outfit, and that your adorable new Anthro bag made it into the shot 🙂 Could it be more perfect for this look?

  21. Laughing out loud. Again. Oh, and I'm seriously disappointed about the space cars too.

  22. I have this skirt as well and love it, but I definitely paid more than $10 for it!! It looks so good with the blue ruffles.

  23. Love that skirt…when I saw that movie I just kept think how the hell do they all Fit in those pants!!
