Wow, this is awkward. I don’t know what to write about it’s been so long. I feel like I need to re-introduce myself. “Hi I’m Kendi. I take pictures of my clothes and talk solely about myself.” Okay there that feels much better.
Let me just say that I was fretting this week, not being able to take outfit pictures. Today when we went to take some pictures it felt like it had been forever, when really it had only been since Monday. I really missed you guys this week too. Thanks for sticking around despite the bitching, the lack of posting and above all the hot mess of virus that has invaded my body. Oh and just to be honest to my blog, I wore a Snuggie all week and socks and nothing else. Bryan said that it would be inappropriate to post pictures since the back of a Snuggie opens up. I argued that so does a hospital gown. He nodded his head and said “exactly”.
I would just like to say that my whole outfit cost less than $40. My trench dress (not sure what to call it) I got on sale for $8 last fall. I wore it over my striped dress that I got for $15, both from Old Navy. Then I wore my $10 heels from Target and my $5 forever21 belt. Ladies and gents, that is one cheap outfit. (I did wear jeans under this for work, as the length of my dress would have certainly got me fired.)
In other news, tomorrow is the big day. It’s the New Media Fashion Brunch/Boutique Crawl in Austin and I could not be more excited. (!!!) I don’t know what to wear, I don’t know how to get there, I don’t even know if I was invited (just kidding I was.) but I am so excited to meet other Texans who style blog. If you live in Austin or will be in town tomorrow, you should meet up at the Boutique Crawl on S. Congress. It starts at 12:30 and will go until 6:30 pm. I’d love to meet you guys! Oh and fair warning, in case we do meet you should know some things:
1. I sweat profusely in my face when I get nervous. Don’t run away, I’ll just follow you.
2. I’m not that funny. In fact if you mention that I am funny, I will become motionless for at least 5 minutes and then say something lame like “do you like dogs?”
3. I have a really deep voice. Just kidding, it’s pretty normal. But wouldn’t that be funny?
Must get some sleep. I hope to see you pretties tomorrow at the crawl.

ah I've been dying for sunglasses like yours, where did you find them!

Marissa– I got them at Fossil. I checked online and they weren't listed, but they are called the "Jackie" and I got them just a few weeks ago. 🙂
Your exchange with your husband about the snuggie is hilarious and the comment about being motionless when asked about being funny unfortunately trumps the comment altogether. Cause' I lol'd.
you look great! totally don't look like you were sick this week at all.
i laughed out loud for a few minutes reading #1 about things about you. you are silly and i love a good laugh. have fun tomorrow!

I agree the sunglasses are fabulous! I am in love with the "safari" trend that's floating around this season!

Love the stripes underneath the shirtdress!
What a cleverly classic outfit! But it's really your silliness and humor that wins me over. Too bad I don't live in Austin… otherwise I would love to be chased by a sweaty-faced funny person. 😀
Seriously though, you're cool. And yes, I do like dogs.

So glad you're feeling better! You look very chic for so cheap, missy! Loooove that belt.
Ahh, I love your blog. It's a dose of funny and fashion all in one. How utterly delightful. 🙂
Oh, and has anyone ever told you you look like Katharine McPhee?
seriously? shut up. shut up!
your blog, your words, your pictures, your outfits and you — all simply adorable. i'm following asap. i'm a fan.
Glad you're feeling better! I love this look, can't believe those booties are from Target. I heart striped shirts!
I almost picked up that same exact dress from Old Navy last night! This look is great.
squee! a new blog to follow. I will drive you nuts.
Glad to hear you are feeling better! Great comeback outfit 😉
Ah, I love this! The trench dress is brilliant!
And I'm glad you're feeling better. I feel like there are a lot of nasty viruses going around right now.
you look great! i wish i was in austin so i could judge for myself if you have a deep voice or not:)
Love the outfit. Its something I would come up with and then my husband would go, "Why do you have to dress up like a boy?" Because, you know, I will be wearing my green keds and military cap with it. Sigh. Oh, well. I repeat. Love the outfit !!
you crack me up. also i want to steal your face! and put it over mine, and wear it, of course.
not really.
but kind of.
Yikes! Glad you didn't get fired over the trench dress – I love it styled like this but am curious how it looked over jeans, too.
I love this look and the belt is super, super cute!!!

You hussy, I love the bare leg look…
I really want to meet you in real life, mostly to see how much you actually sweat and how fast you'll run to follow me if I take off. I doubt you're not funny though, we would sit in a corner and say funny things that cross the line…
lookin good fashionista! love the stripes and the belt with that dress. the weather in portland has been horrible this week… and i hate pics with flash! ugh!
welcome back! glad you are feeling better 🙂
and what a bargain hunter you are!! amazing work.
thanks to you, i now have diet pepsi up my nose from snorting. you won't mind getting another hospital bill right? (side note- you have pretty eyelashes.) when i meet new people, i usually have to apologize and feel the need to explain why i'm covered in cat hair. normal must be sooo boring
glad you're feeling better, i can always rely on your blog to cheer me up because, i don't care what you say, you are hilarious. i laugh out loud everytime i read this. i live in san antonio, an hour from austin and so wish i could be there to meet you in person and answer "yes" when you ask if i like dogs.
ha ha I feel the exact same way about my humor… eh.. lack of.
you are quite adorable. Love your style. And that's why there is a little surprise for you on my blog. I hope you accept, you deserve it 🙂

This outfit is so good! I can't believe those shoes are from Target– and $10 at that! What a deal!
And the visual of a sweaty person uncomfortably following around someone makes me chuckle. Thank you for that.

Love your belt and shoes! I like how you paired them with that top 😀

Thank you for the reminder to layer dresses when they're too insubstantial. I believe this will become very handy this summer.
You've got some legs girl! Look at that second-to-last picture!
