Accidental Fancy

Well, well, well…it’s Tuesday and I’m feeling fancy AF. I’ve noticed recently that I’ve been wanting to get fancy mid-week. I have no idea why but out of nowhere some days I just want to feel dressed up. So I’m just going to roll with it. Now please read this next sentence in Carrie Bradshaw’s voiceover: “Which makes me wonder….are Tuesday mornings the new Saturday nights?”

Now feeling fancy is a state of mind, of course but it does help when I’m in a pleated maxi skirt. Or is this a midi skirt? I can’t tell. It kept riding up to my natural waist line because of my Spanx and my camisole so I think it’s meant to be a maxi skirt but it *wants* to be a midi skirt. Which honestly I don’t hate, for a maxi skirt wear it on your hips and for a midi wear it more towards your natural waist line or even a little higher. (Also yes, I’m wearing Spanx. These ones here.)

I am in the 8 of the skirt and I think it runs just a tad loose. I would say that this skirt could comfortably fit an 8/10 waist. I have a rounder waist, and it’s looser so that’s why I say it runs just a bit big. I always get a little nervous suggesting a different sizing because everyone’s bodies are different (Remember one size does not fit all!) but I do think this skirt is generous in it’s fit. I personally wouldn’t size down because I don’t want it to be tighter in the waist, but if you DO, then yes size down one. I like a bit of a looser look with an elastic waist.

This camisole sold out in like 4 seconds at the Anniversary Sale but I found a really similar one from Urban Outfitters (random, right?) It doesn’t have the lace look but I almost like it better because it seems a bit more sophisticated without the lace, especially with this look. (I’m loving the bronze color of the camisole too, but I’ve linked the beige!)
