My Favorite Summer Shorts

Denim shorts or cut-offs have long been a summer staple for me. I could link countless outfits from summers’ past that feature my beloved Rag & Bone cut-off shorts. They are my absolute favorite and they *almost* fit again, too! I can get the shorts buttoned but I can’t move, which is an essential part of my day. I didn’t realize how much I lean into a good pair of cut off shorts until last summer when I was 8 months pregnant and was absolutely lost on what to wear. I was getting so tired of dresses or let’s be honest — yoga pants, my last fitting pair of pants. But I knew I was on the tail-end of pregnancy and just held my breathe until summer was over and Gemma was here. So this summer I knew I wanted to jump right back in with a good pair of denim shorts, but I’m not quite in my pre-baby shorts. I didn’t want to re-invest in new Rag & Bone shorts because I know that eventually, I’ll get back into them, so luckily Madewell came through with a FANTASTIC pair of shorts. I’m telling you — when you find a good pair of denim shorts, you snatch them up fast.

I bought this in April I think because I knew this summer would be the summer of cut-offs. I am giving my past self a round of applause because I’ve been wearing these non-stop, especially on Instagram. If you’ve been looking for a good pair, these are one of my favorites and well under $75! They are the Madewell High Rise Shorts in Glen Oaks wash. (These are NOT the Madewell Perfect Fit shorts.
