C’est La Vie

Well, well, well. Look who is on the blog again today. This blue blazer. I can’t help myself, you guys. I want to wear it all the time. I literally bought this exact outfit with my blue blazer in mind. In fact, I went shopping last week and all of the pieces I bought go with my blue blazer. This is officially an obsession. 

And the thing is, when I first got it I was so sure about it. I didn’t love the fit and then one day, it just clicked. You have pieces in your closet like that, right? Where it takes a little bit to get used to them and then they suddenly become a favorite? It’s always the pieces that I question at first that become the favorites. This also happened with my husband. I was not so sure about him first, but then we clicked and he became my very favorite. Now if that isn’t a romantic story, then I don’t know what is. I mean I just compared my husband to a blazer. TRUE LOVE.
After the paragraph above, this statement will come to no surprise to you: I freaking love blazers. I love blazers probably more than I love most things. I push them on people when I’m styling in store. I I hang them all together in a collection in my closet. In fact, a friend of mine looked into my closet and asked if I really needed another blazer. Sure she was being a friend, but yeah I do. I mean, this blazer is no exception; who knew I needed a baby blue blazer in my life? Apparently I did last fall when I bought this for bloom. Thanks, past Kendi — you’re a good egg.

  1. I think you and I have very different styles. I am distinctly more girly and foofy, and you’re more modern, but I still always find inspiration in your outfits. This red/baby blue combo? To die for! Gonna have to try that out… with a blazer of course! I’m a sucker for those too!

  7. I’d wear that blue blazer everyday too! That is SO your color, so work it! I have a similar “go to” piece, my green utility jacket, I’m pretty much over the phase of being embarrassed for wearing it 3 day out of the week! Haha.

  12. kendi my dear, i love your new website design. but every day i find it harder to read the text because it’s italicized and middle-aligned. Would you consider taking off the italics and aligning it to the left again? I want to make sure I get every bit of your witty writing!

    1. Yeah, the text italicized like that is insanely hard to read, it’s just not clear enough against the background.

      1. I would love to do that but…don’t judge…I don’t know how! If anyone knows how to change it, let me know! I’m seriously stumped on this one because it’s built into the template. I know it’s hard to read, but i’ll look into changing it again! Thanks for the feedback.

  58. I really wish I could love bright pants as much as you do. My legs are really thick and muscular and I always feel weird in them. I recently forced myself to buy what I consider “light wash” jeans, which are really just very dark medium wash to everyone else! HA! Love the tee too!

    1. Well that’s okay! Honestly it’s best to go with works on your body / body type and what you feel good in. I mean colored pants are fun to wear, but you can always bring in color elsewhere 🙂

  99. Meh, I say, go with the blazer! It seems like a tricky colour to pair things with so use that as your excuse. Best buy them now before there is nothing at all to match it. Also, can you please ask Sole Society to send some of those shoes my way?

I have about five or six in my closet and this cold weather has been irritating me because it’s too cold to start whipping them out to pair with outfits. Sometimes I think I would really just like to move to California and stay there forever. My style is best with clothes made for warmer seasons anyway. Put me in a wintry environment and I look like I don’t know how clothing works. Bless…
