There is a trend going around the internet that picks something that you were once ‘blind’ to that you went hard into because you couldn’t see it for what it was. For instance — too thick eyebrows (guilty), sunless tanner (guilty again), an unnecessary belt (also guilty). These are just some examples. Well I’d like to add one to the pile: the colored skinny jeans of the 10s. My friends, please don’t make me pull out evidence of this because it hurts me. Archival rummaging hits on a different level for me because I have 15 years of outfits I thought were SO good that I posted them to the internet and sometimes I was wrong. I would say the 10+ colors of the skinny jeans I purchased for the span of 2 years was a misstep. And I don’t even know if it was the trend in general or just how hard I bought into it, but I’m forever scarred by the Target colored skinny jeans for $20 that I just kept buying. So much so that when I find a pair of colored pants that I like, I have to ask myself if I’m falling down a rabbit hole from 2010.
In fact, as I was prepping this post I recognized that these are in fact colored jeans. Now they are wide leg, which I do think one day we will look back on (again) and say ‘why’ but for now I like them. In fact I really like this pair of jeans, and I highly recommend them. But behold, they are pink. And I had to check myself to see if this was a relapse or if it’s just a really cute pair of denim. (It’s the latter option, thank god.)
What I like the most about this pair is that they’re soft and super comfortable to wear. The pink hue is just secondary because I like how they fit so much. I am in the 29 or 8 from Zara, fit is perfect. Slightly relaxed, and they lay a little low on the hips. You can find them for under $50 here!
I also love this top from Zara too. But I popped a button because I pulled it on over my head without un-buttoning it. And sure enough – POP. So the shirt is a bit low-cut here but that’s not by choice. It’s by fault. I am in the medium, fit is perfect. (However buttons WILL fall off if you choose to be reckless.)

But at the time we loved the colored skinnies. They were the It thing. I don’t think we have to look back on them negatively now that trends have changed!
I think it’s less of the trend itself being negative (I’m literally wearing colored jeans!) but more of the fact that I bought like 10 different pairs of color jeans in a 6 month period. I didn’t have to go so hard lol! Off the top of my head I can think of purple, pink, red, green, bright blue, yellow and I know for sure I had two different, colorful printed jeans. That’s what I mean by the trend rabbit hole — I can get lost in a trend sometimes and can’t see anything else. I think I’m safe with just one pair of colored jeans now 😉
