Pleated Mini Skort

I know I’ve said this before but in my mind August = back to school = fall clothes. I swear it was cooler when we went back to school in the 90s in August. But as we all know, August is still very much summer, in fact it’s usually our hottest days. Since we’ve got a whole other month of summer temps at least,  I am trying my best to marry the love of fall clothes with the reality that is August heat. So for instance, I’m going a bit more dark with a few of my color ways like this camel and black combo here. I’m still in weather-appropriate attire, but the vibe says fall.

I have a feeling this skort is about to become my whole personality. I picked it up from Abercrombie and Fitch of all places and really love the pleats and the fact that it’s a skort. Skorts are so practical because I worry less about the skirt being too short as I’m completely covered. However it gives me another alternative other than just another pair of shorts. Skorts (short + skirt) are the crossover we need, that we deserve. Sporks walked so skorts could run.

I am loving this top from Anthro as well. This is a super soft knit (but see my note below!) that’s not a sweater but a thick, bouncy knit fabric. I love the muscle tee vibe of it, it creates a nice structure that elevates the look but it’s essentially you can wear it like a tee. (please note it’s a thicker knit not tee-like fabric.) On a sad note, the knit top tends to pill and I didn’t realize this until after I wore my belt bag all day. The rubbing from the purse caused pilling so I used my sweater shaver and got it pretty much back to normal. But had I known I wouldn’t have done a crossbody or belt bag. Just FYI if those kind of things bother you because they sure bother me.
