Hello there! Happy Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! If you haven’t already shopped the sale via my LTK or IG Stories, welcome! Or perhaps you’re not shopping the sale at all and in that case, I’ve got a non-sale related post coming tomorrow for you 🙂

But since the sale is now live for all cardholders, let’s break down some things I got to try on yesterday! I won’t lie — it’s an overwhelming sale and I probably hit like 5% of what is actually in store. And would you believe I was still in the fitting room for an hour-plus? (I went early with an appointment and no one was waiting for a room because of me, I feel as though should justify this lol) So please know there are lots and lots of other things in the sale I just am one person and I ran out of energy by hour 3. So let’s break down some of my favorites! If you’d like to see everything I tried on, I’ve linked it all in my LTK here. I’m just sharing my highly recommend pieces here.

(Since there are a lot of photos, so I’m going to try to be as succinct as possible with each description / fit detail.)

I am high-key obsessed with this look. Will never get over it until I can actually wear it in November and even then I will be annoying about it. So this skirt runs generously — I’m in the large and the drape was really loose and while it does have a drawstring, you still want to make sure the fit is right for you. I went for a medium just to try it and I liked how the large hid my tummy a bit better, so this is the large and I kept this piece! Shop the skirt here in three colors.

The Madewell sweater is loose and lightweight (itchy if you are sensitive to wool!). It is well under $100 as well. However I am not seeing the same thing the reviews are — a lot of them said it was too short? I am not getting that, so maybe it go re-cut for the sale? I have no idea but the length was correct for me in the size large. It hits around the top of my hip bones, which is a high subjective measurement I realize. I just didn’t find it ‘cropped’ by any means. I am in the large and I appreciate this size. Shop the sweater here.

The Stuart Weitzman flats are gorgeous and the bow detail is darling. Size up at least a half size for the pointed toe portion. I am in the 10 but they’re too small. I got home and realized I should have gone with the 10.5 or 11. Find them in three colors here.

I can’t tell you how much I love this dress. I know it’s from Zella the activewear brand, but it’s a classy lady. There is a built in bra, which I love because I am always about minimum effort, but it doesn’t take away from this dress looking and feeling classic. And it takes the ‘what bra should I wear’ question out of it. I am in the large and for the boobs it is the best size for me. If you have even bigger boobs, go up a size.

It’s going fast! Find it here.

PS: I threw this Madewell sweater over it! Such a good find as well. I am in the medium. Find it here.

These Dolce Vita Flats are the best. They are way cuter in person, I can not stress this enough. I would not have bought these online, but in person they are really cute and the fit is perfect. If you are looking for a ballet flat with some edge for fall, this is a nice option. And they were comfortable from the get. I am in my usual size of 10. Find them here!

Love this jacket from Sam Edelman and it’s in full stock, under $100! It’s a nice cross between a coat and a jacket for me here in Texas. It is quite different than anything I own so that’s a plus for me. It’s that faux boiled wool — is it felt? Is that what this fabric is? Either way it’s pretty thick and has structure to it, so much so that the collar stayed in villain mode. Love that for me this winter. I am in the large and it is a nice roomy fit! Find it here.

I believe this sweater top is almost sold out in this hue, but there is a gorgeous darker brown hue that would work well with this outfit, too! Both are great options, in my opinion. This sweater is quite warm, so know that. This is a nice top to have when you want to layer under a jacket or blazer in the winter but the sleeves of a typical sweater won’t fit. I am in the large and it fits me perfectly. I find the brand Wayf typically runs smaller, so I am a large in their items. Find it here.

Okay so this Farm Rio skirt is sold out for now…I’ll keep an eye on it to see if it comes back because she sure is pretty! I am in the medium, fit is true to size.

Also those boots are Vince Camuto (you can see them in full below!) but you can find them here.

Speaking of this sweater top, here are a few more looks with it!

So this dress I realized when I got home is actually a jacket. Both me and the sales associate thought it was a dress so I feel seen. But yeah, technically it was designed as a jacket. For me I’m going to wear it as a dress. (If you’re wondering about that bottom button situation, I’m thinking about putting just a hook and eye on the inside or maybe a hidden snap so that I can wear it as a dress and the bottom hem won’t fly open.) We make the clothes work for us, you know? But if you want an actually designed denim dress, you can see this one here!

Now I am in the large and it runs TTS. It’s plenty room in here (because it’s a jacket) and I like the length as well. I would say TTS for a size 8-10. Find it here.

This pair of boots are so gorgeous in person. Yet another pair I wouldn’t have touched online but then in person, gorgeous. I have to say mad shout out to my sales associate for pointing them out. I tried on the Paige ones and my calf almost choked to death because they were so tight, so she mentioned the wide calf of these and I loved them instantly. They’re comfortable to wear, it’s an actual wide calf, too. Like there is ROOM in here! They also didn’t slouch down when I was wearing them. I was so excited! You can find them in a few colors here under $150.

Another denim look and I’m kind of kicking myself for not grabbing this one. I’m having sale regret, which is early for me. I am in the large and as you can see the middle is not button. I WILL button but it’s a lay down on the bed situation because the buttons themselves are hard to do. This is a thick denim dress, know that. Sure I could have asked my sales associate to help but we are just getting to know each other and I wasn’t ready to make the next step. ALSO my boobs did fit but it was touch and go at first. There is a lot of stretch to this dress and because of the nature of denim, it holds you in well. I am in the large, find it here full stock!

Okay so this dress is kinda weird, I won’t lie but I love it. It’s kind of — KIND OF — like that crinkle fabric of shirts that used to be sold at kiosks in the mall. You know the ones that puckered up really small and then it fit anyone’s body, objectively speaking. So I say it’s only kind of like that because it doesn’t pucker up to a different size so much as it’s a lightweight smocked fabric. This dress is a deep navy, which I love. It feels different than just another black dress. I would probably wear different shoes with this look however, but I did the best I could with what I had in the dressing room.

This dress runs big! It’s very stretchy and weirdly not clingy. I am in the medium and it’s still pretty roomy. Definitely go down one size. Find it here.

So unfortunately this sweater is sold out now, but this one — albeit a completely different color — is similar and in stock! Find a similar sweater here.

This pair of AG denim looks to be going fast BUT it’s one of my favorite pairs of denim. I have a pair like this from spring, it fits so well and so comfortable. They call it a slim ex boyfriend but I find it fits like a straight denim jean. I am in the 30 here, TTS. Find it here! and if you’re size sells out in that hue, this one is pretty darn close and on sale!

Okay now for the good part — this pair of flats is something else! I love the bright red hue, I’m usually more of an orange red fan but I love the bold classic red in this flat. And with the Mary Jane strap? Get outta here. Now this flat comes in a few colors including neutrals, so if red isn’t your thing no problem. Under $75 and they fit TTS! Find them here!

This sweater is one of those that your future self will thank you for buying in the middle of summer. It’s big, it’s soft, it’s cozy. It’s everything I want to wear from December 20 – February 28. Very specific timeline, I know. I am in the medium and as you can see it runs very big! Size down to your liking. This sweater comes in many colors, too! Find it in pretty full stock here!

This pair of Frame baby boot jeans are so damn flattering. Also props to them for vanity sizing because this is the 30 and they’re pretty loose. I could have done a 29 and that’s funny to me. I’m a 30/31 across the board with denim right now, so that just tells me this style runs big! The fabric is very stretchy and lightweight. And so very flattering. Highly recommend if you were once traumatized by flare jeans in the 2000s but you’re intrigued by the changing denim styles of the 2020s. This baby flare is a baby step for us millennials who are wary of change. Find it here! *updated link*

Do I wish I had shoes on here? Yes, yes I do. Let’s pretend these ON Cloudmonsters are present in this photo ok? Thank you.

This Nike set just almost came home with me. I’m kind of kicking myself for not grabbing it! I am in the large of the sweatshirt for extra room and I’m in the large of the shorts and they fit perfectly relaxed. Highly recommend either piece! Find the sweatshirt here and the shorts here.

Okay so this sweatshirt IS sold out but I found it in store just FYI. I think it’ll come back in stock Monday. I am in the large and kind of thinking I need the medium instead. It runs very big! There are also hidden pockets on the side, isn’t that clever? Find it here.

This pair of biker shorts from FP Movement are under $50! I bought them in the purple and the blue! I sized down to a medium as they are very stretchy and run kind of big. They fit me perfectly! Find them here.

On the other hand, I sized WAY up in the camisole! I am in the XL and I love the fit. I can not however were it as a sports bra because there is no support. It is a compression fit but it’s not enough for a sports bra for bigger boobs. I woudl say size up if you’ve got big boobs or you want extra length! It’s on sale for $21!

  1. Do the MJ ballet flats need to be strapped into every time you wear them, or is that a design feature and you just slip them on like regular flats?

    1. I slipped them on and off in the dressing room without having to undo the strap. It’s a stretchy strap so it worked well doing it that way! I do think you can unstrap them to adjust but not necessary every time you take them off / on.
