I can’t count how many times I’ve done this outfit pairing. It’s one of my very favorites because it comes together so easily and looks so cool. Mixing a graphic tee with a graphic skirt seems like it will be too much pattern, but when you keep your colors consistent, it works out just fine.

I popped my head into Madewell last weekend and honestly I had no business to do that because I walked out with this whole outfit and a pretty sweater and scarf. I am such an old school shopper, I love an in person shopping trip. So much that I’ve realized that the best way for me to not spend money is to simply not go. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll fill up an imaginary cart online for thousands of imaginary dollars but hitting send requires a lot more thinking and deciding. In a store, I lose myself and before I know it I’m Carrie Bradshaw on a payday. (This rule applies to Target, the mall, Sephora, Homegoods and generally anywhere I would black out then wake up at a Chick-fil-A parking lot.)

If you too would like to re-create this outfit, everything is linked here!

Also if you are an Adidas Sambas girly, this outfit would look adorable with them. I get the craze though as I just purchased some Adidas Gazelle’s and love them. (yes, instead of Sambas because I can’t help but be a little different. It’s my Unicorn Syndrome.) Any low profile sneaker will do just fine with this length of skirt! And I don’t care what the Gen Z’s say, keep those ankle socks with your low pro shoes.

I am in the 10 of the skirt and it fits me just right with a bit of wiggle room. If in between sizes, go down a size but otherwise TTS. I am in the large of the tee BUT it runs boxy / generous. It fits generously on me, so go down a size if you want a more fitted look. It IS cropped, just FYI.

  1. I love this, it hits perfect. A great amalgamation of current trends (slip skirts) and more timeless/millennial comfort pieces (graphic tees) put together in a way that feels right for my style! Thanks again!

  2. Wow Kendi…! With this outfit and this look so spring, I can’t abstain from hitting send without thinking more… You are so beautiful and captivating. <3.<3.<3

  3. Love how you effortlessly combine style and comfort! The mix of a graphic tee with a graphic skirt is a bold choice that totally works, especially with your consistent color palette. And I can completely relate to the in-person shopping struggle—there’s something about seeing and feeling the pieces that makes it so much easier to justify the splurge. This outfit is a perfect example of why sometimes, it’s worth it! 🛍️✨
