Once upon a time on the internet one certain fashion blogger would get dragged for wearing gingham. ‘PiCnIc TaBlE’ the shamers would say. Since then, the internet has come a long way and now that literally everyone is online, those people got bored of me and my picnic fashions and moved on to those who really cause a commotion online.
But there is a part of me that is still a bit shy towards gingham. I naturally love it, I’m drawn to it, like a moth to a flame — or rather a fly to the food on picnic table — but those little voices echo through my shopping cart until I ultimately decide against the gingham. And I get it — gingham is universal for picnic but it’s still so perfect for spring and summer. I think it can be done well and this Madewell set feels like the perfect combination of neutrals and gingham. Neutral gingham might just be the key to success here. Picnic but make it chic.
