Sorry I took a long pause and didn’t post yesterday. I guess my blog should be called “Kendi Every Other Day” or perhaps “Kendi Whenever She Feels Like It”. All kidding aside, I just needed a day to let my brain cool off. I hate when it overheats.
So I’m wearing my new hat that B gave me. It’s from the Eugenia Kim line from Target, precious isn’t it? I added the flower to further the cuteness. How did my husband get so good at picking things out for me, you ask? He just knows me that well. And I showed him the exact aisle, walked about a yard away and yelled “that one!” when he pointed to this hat. That’s how gift giving works in our house. Christmas, as you can imagine, is violent.
I felt like Hawaii Barbie in a sea of regular job Barbie’s today. (Are you getting that coco-cabana vibe or is it just me?) Perhaps I should lay off the alcohol early in the morning, maybe that would subside these mirages of sitting poolside with a pina colada when really I’m sitting computer-side with a coffee and work.

oh i love this. the tunic is totally rad and the hat is adorable on you. if i could pull off a hat i would run not walk to my nearest target to buy one of these. as it is i can't get my laziness out to buy a pair of the multi colored cynthia vincent wedges and i will probably end up paying a small fortune on ebay for a pair. all that to say, you look great and i am all for that kind of gift giving.
Yay! The hat! Is it creepy that I've been waiting to see it ever since you mentioned it?
I love the wedge sandals with this, too!
I love this outfit! So springy and fun…and if you are heading to the pool, I'll meet you there!
I could never pull off this hat, but it's fantastic on you. This outfit has a sort of casual yacht / boathouse feel to me… and yet is made classier with the wedge heels. Loving it!
I love your blog and it makes me laught and inspire me to take risks in my fashion choices. I was wondering if your cute Target wedges are comfortable. I like wedges better than heels and I have seen these, but don't want to make the purchase if they aren't comfy.
Haha, in our household we don't choose our own gifts but we often tell each other what we got/are giving because we get too excited. 🙂
i love the proportions here–you look especially tall and lean.
and that hat is just too cool–all you need is a cigar to match.
Cute hat, awesome husband! I can't wear hats worth a penny, but you my dear look lovely!

I love this hat and the way you styled it up. I've been wearing a lot of hats this spring- and i've never really been a hat girl before- but I'm loving them. I think they make any outfit cooler, and I wouldn't mind starting my day off with a pina colada or margarita!
I love the flower you added, it really makes it more feminine than tomboy. You look great!
If I like pina coloda's what? Little umbrella straw?
Sorry, had to do it, I was an Engish major and like pointing out spelling, usage and grammatical errors…I also really dig this outfit, the neutral palette is great and the hat is a perfect touch.
Hehe. I think this hat feels very Cuban inspired. That's so funny that you said you are the Hawaii Barbie.
your outfit is amazing, and your husband is my favorite photographer. These shots are the shiz.
I agree with Nathan. Your husbands skills are top notch and you're not so bad yourself 😉
Just wanted to let you know I used my FindersKeepers credit today! I'm hoping the dress gets to Tech before we leave. I have a little plan to make some trips and do Lubbock-y things in it and take pictures and blog and stuff…
Sounds better in my head 🙂
I'm dying for one of those hats and the Cynthia Vincent wedges. C'mon Target!
Ohes mah gaad precious hat with pop-o-blue stripe and irreverently un-tucked top with perfectly not-so-cinched belt!!
May be my fave yet.
Hawaii barbie..so funny! Great hat and love how you added the flower 🙂
Love this look Kendi!!! And the hat is too cute, especially with the touch of flower. Keep up the good work!
xoxo,

You and that hat were meant to be together. As you so generously pointed out to your hubs.
I was about to be really jealous that your beau could pick out something. Whenever S and I go out and I ask him for his opinion, he says "If you like it, I like it." WRONG ANSWER. Anyway, I really like this outfit. That skirt+belt+skirt combo is so chic.

Yay, I love that hat! I have got to get my butt to Target!!!

Like another commenter said, you make me laugh all the time! Thanks for posting! And I really want to be able to pull a hat like that off…did you wear it to the office or just at home? I'm not sure I could get away with it at work. Hope you have some more happy mirages of being poolside at work!
Love love love that hat!!! 🙂
Aw, this outfit is perfect! The hat is the best finishing touch, and I ADORE that tunic!
Ooh, I love this look – very Cuban casual! Too bad I look rubbish in hats!
that is *exactly* how gift giving works in my relationship, too, lol!
You are such a stylish lady… I like this outfit almost as much as I like fresh pina coladas… sorry, they win because they make me feel good….
This is definitely my favorite outfit so far! So cute!
