We took these photos the other morning when the light was just perfect AKA the one day when we weren’t running late. Typically we hide in an alley way because the sun is too bright, but apparently when you wake up on time good things happen. You learn something new each day, don’t you?
I had an old lady stop me outside my shop. Literally she stopped me on the sidewalk and when an old lady stops you, you do not move until told to. She looked me over and said “olive and blue? I would have never put those together…” I wasn’t sure where she was going with this but she and her friends agreed that they liked the combo with nods of approval. I sighed relief. I was pretty sure she was going to tell me my dress was too short, but luckily I distracted her with colors so she didn’t even notice. That was a close one.

Oh I LOVE this color combination! I cannot even imagine saying that to someone about their outfit! I don’t understand why people feel the need to comment on things like that when they aren’t positive. Oh well, that’s me.

Haha well being in retail you hear a lot of things! People are quite vocal with opinions. These ladies were sweet but they sure were looking me over at first! I didn’t know where that conversation was going to go.
love these colors today! and that lighting is amazing!

LalalaLove this combo. Blue & olive is cute, & so is the whole military & stripes. 🙂 Funny story too. Old ladies can be super intimidating, but when you get an outfit compliment from them, you know you’re doing something right!!

You look lovely as always. An older lady told me that she thinks my red skinny jeans were “cute”. After I said thank you, she added you looked like you are ready to jog in the morning. I don’t know if that was a compliment or not 🙂
Haha! I dig old people and their random comments.
p.s. I also dig this ensemble. It’s still frigid in my Canadian city, so I’m not sure when my pale legs will ever get out. Living vicariously through you.
Love this combo! Well Done.

the light is indeed gorgeous & I love your colour combination
Such a pretty color combination!
How “old” was the “old lady”? She was probably a style-setter in her day. (Picture circa Mad Men.)
We were all young, and we all get “old”.
Oh she was probably 70-75. And yes, she was cute as she could be, so she probably was a Joan of her time. 😉
Great combination. LOve it. Olive is more like a neutral anyways. LOve the outfit.

I love the olive and blue together! My olive coat I have from Old Navy is extremely similar and it’s one of my favorites to pair with everything. It matches all colors, coral, blue, yellow and it adds a more relaxed vibe to certain looks! Sometimes I think people are scared to wear color because I get the exact same questions and remarks at my work but I do believe anyone can pull off color, you just have to be confident and rock those uncommon colors! And you couldn’t have pulled off those colors better than with this outfit!
I love these colors together so much, they look perfect and you know when a stranger stops you to tell you that then it must be true!
I couldn’t agree more: when an old lady stops you, you’d better listen. I got a similar nod of approval on my Converse sneakers the other day by two older women in a department store. Cute dress, btw!
