I feel like the theme of this week could be “striped tees and what you can do with them” but after much thought (about a whole 20 seconds) I realized that those words just do not quite have a ring to them. But in all seriousness: here is my striped tee and this is what I did with it.

Too many times I reserve my tees for my casual outfits on my off days or weekends (AKA the outfits you never see). But really, I’m not giving my tees enough credit. Sure they can easily be casual, that’s obvious. But I got to thinking about how easy it is to dress up a tee and also the easiest way to make an office outfit more comfortable. It’s as easy as one, two, tee. (See what I did there? It at least deserves a pity laugh.)

I picked this gem up from Old Navy the other day using the justification of “but I don’t have an orange and a blue striped tee…” And since I was alone, my justification worked. Within minutes of getting home I realized how many outfits I could make with just this tee. I decided to try out the classic pencil skirt + heels combo for a weekday look. For a weekend look, I went much more casual because well, weekend. You never have to explain a baseball cap and cut-off shorts when it’s the weekend.

  3. I know I must be a long time reader if the first word that popped into my mind when I saw your name next to “weekend” was “Weekendi”. Ha! I’m inspired by your weekendi (see?) wear though! Most fashion inspiration around is more for work attire, it’s nice to see someone who knows what they’re doing show off a more casual look. 🙂

  4. The pencil skirt look is really lovely – I could definitely wear this to my place of work (and picked up a pair of heels the self same colour in H&M just this morning, 50% off sale, yes please!). I don’t have the legs for the shorts but you look fantastic in them. Look forward to the next installment in this series 🙂

  5. Both of these outfits are perfection. I haven’t shopped at Old Navy in ages, but I may have to make a stop to check out this tee! As far as I’m concerned, a girl can never (ever ever) have enough stripes.

  6. And this is how you should style a baseball cap! Very nice! I love both outfits! I’m not usually a loafers girls, but those shiny ones are pretty awesome.

  7. Cute! Love both looks. Love a great tee that can be dressed up and down. So versatile!

  13. I’m always been nervous to wear a casual tee with a pencil skirt – I’m still learning to break fashion rules and am never quite sure I can pull things off. You look great. I’d wear both of these looks in a heartbeat!

  14. Love the pairings – especially loving the striped tee with the pencil skirt (and your hair is looking amazing in those photos).

  15. I love both of these outfits – the styling is totally different, but they’re both great! The casual one is my favorite, though. Cute shoes!

  16. I love the workday look – mixing tees and pencil skirts are one of my favorite things to do for my 9-5. And how adorbs that your heels and skirt match the stripes perfectly! Obviously that top was meant for your closet.
