Ever since moving to the ‘burbs last fall, Bryan and I have really embraced that homebody life. We have found all the places that deliver food within a 10 mile radius and have just about maxed out our welcome with each delivery driver. When we believe in something we really like to give our 100%. We’ve also run out of series to watch on Netflix / Amazon Prime / hulu. I mean, we’ve given it our all last fall and winter. So lately we’ve really been trying to get out of our little nest and find new places to try and to go. And when you’ve been living under a rock for 6 months, finding places that are new to you (and that don’t deliver) is not that difficult.
We’ve decided to give our weekends our full attention and have been trying out new places in Dallas. We have grown to love this metroplex of ours and never mind a short drive out of our neighborhood to find new places to walk around or eat at. Plus I am always down for a new reason to dress up. This weekend we ended up at a french bistro in Dallas (Toulouse) we’ve driven past a million times and realized that this green wall was just waiting for us to take photos in front of. Which brings me to my next point: Always wear a cute outfit when trying to find new places. You never know when a green wall will sneak up on you.
This floral number is perfect for a day to date night. In fact, this floral dress is the type of dress that easily goes from denim jacket and flats to blazer and heels without skipping a beat. (I’m actually a big fan of this CeCe by Cynthia Steffe line in general. I’ve not found one thing I’ve bought that I didn’t like from this brand.) Plus you know how much I love a good drop waist dress. Give me floral prints and drop waists and I’m a happy girl. Also give me pomme frites, which I discovered was a polite way of saying yes, please all the french fries.

I love this dress. Such a beautiful pattern. That’s awesome you are trying to venture out. I live in Nashville TN and my boyfriend and I recently decided to go on a weekend trip once a month to a new city within a 4 hour radius. Because of the same reason you are! We found ourselves stuck in a rut doing the same things on the weekends. We have been two months strong. We’ve hit up Asheville, NC and Chattanooga, TN so far. Bristol, TN for a NASCAR race is our trip in April. Should be interesting! Ha-ha. Maybe you and your husband could try venturing to some new cities around Dallas as well once you hit up all the new restaurants! We’ve found that with AirBnB we can keep our trips within a hundred dollars! It’s also something we look forward to together. Great tip on always looking cute ha-ha. Love your blog.

Yeah, I don’t need that many reasons to dress up and there’s no better reason to dress up than a date with your man at a great new restaurant. 🙂
You’re looking beautiful and very elegant in this outfit!

I always love your photos Kendi, though this one may be a bit too formal for my style 🙂 I’d love to know how you edit them! They’re just the right amount of fresh and colourful.
I love exploring new places in your hometown and I know what you mean when you say you’ve ran out of series to watch – me too! Maybe you have a few Netflix recommendations for us?
xo Kat
Oh no, there are so many things on netflix. Have you seen “The Fall” if not, hurry and watch. Soooooo exciting. My husband and I were hooked, and now they are coming out with a new season this year. *the guy from fifty shades of grey is in it) also, broadchurch was extremely good. Both will have you wanting to be a home body and have food delivered.
That print is so pretty! I love it paired with your pink bag.
