Floral Fever

When I found this top on sale, I immediately thought about pairing it with these pants. And I was sold right then and there. There is something about pairing a cargo pant with a very feminine top that just works. I’d been on the lookout for an updated cargo pant and I have tried many, many on in the past few months and none of them fit right. This pair (finally!) worked and I snatched them up immediately. I didn’t realize until today that they came in other colors. Why must you do this to me, J.Crew? Why? (Side note: have you ever liked a pair of pants so much that you did buy them in another color? I’m not sure I’ve been so loyal to a fit that I’ve done that but I do like these in the grey, too. Your thoughts appreciated on this terribly important subject.)

Summer has snuck up on us somewhat offensively. Over the weekend, B and I were out in Bishop Arts in Dallas and we were all of a sudden very discomfortable and grouchy. We looked at each other like what in the world is this? Oh. This is heat. And we live in Texas. And it’s June. That’s what that feeling is. For a few months, we had forgotten the reality that is summer. I just don’t know if I’m ready yet. (Fact: It’s been 30 years of summer. I’ll never be ready.)

  12. Fact: If I find something I like I buy it in several colours. Cardigans, tops, vests, trousers, skirts. The only thing I’ve not done it in is shoes. Perhaps I should remedy that?!

    1. I’ve thought about it for shoes, actually! And cardigans are kind of a must — if you find a favorite, you’ve got to get them in multiple colors bc they are hard to come buy.

  17. I love your outfit. It’s so perfect. Pants in colors other than white, black or blue jeans is new to me. I absolutely love those green pants paired with the floral top, they look amazing together.

  25. I have indeed bought the same pair of pants in multiple colors – from J. Crew in fact! The Reese pants from this past season. I got them in black, then gray, and I just picked up the navy stripe ones on clearance over the weekend! Loveable pants are a rare find. Gotta go all out. (Consider this your permission to buy 2 more pairs of these. You’re welcome.)

  33. I love how you paired the two different greens in one outfit. It works! I typically have to dissuade myself from buying multiples (I always pick a favorite and it gets all the use) but in this case you may be right. Plus grey and army green are TOTALLY different, so you probably need them both 😉 happy to help.

  39. I do confess to buying great pants in multiple colours! They are so tricky to find I think when you find something that works, stock up! 🙂 I’m really bad for doing that with jeans especially, haha!

    I like the floral top with the olive green pants, it’s a nice combination.

  44. I’m in the “if the pants fit, buy them in every color” camp. Or at least a couple colors. I’m good at not playing favorites and giving all the choices equal wear.

  57. I’ve purchased Old Navy’s pixie pants in multiple colors…the fit is great, so why not get the pants in as many colors and patterns as possible! Go for it and get more pants 🙂
