What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger right? No — what doesn’t kill you steals 3 of your vacation days from work, trains you to need afternoon naps, and makes you long for daytime TV. Then it makes you stronger. Well metaphorically stronger, not physically stronger, like I can’t lift 50 lbs or anything, but I could probably pick up a chair. All that to say, I’m feeling much better. Thanks for sticking around. Oh and thanks for sending the flowers, too. Oh, that wasn’t you? You didn’t send those flowers to my house? Well, this just got awkward, didn’t it?
I decided to ease into my outfit today with a little bit of color. It’s about to get very warm here so I decided to get my tights out for one last hoorah, in case the 70s are here to stay. I loved Jentine’s blue plaid shirt so much that I went searching for my own. While she searched many a thrift stores to find hers, I punched three 14 year olds in the face and pushed a cougar mom out of the way to get my shirt. I wandered into American Eagle of all places the other day and found this little guy and a dress. I had to show my i.d. too, they didn’t believe that I was 14. Anyways, after washing off the teen spirit on the shirt, I really like it. I think it’s going to fit into my spring wardrobe very well.
I can’t tell you all how happy I am to be back. I was missing my outfits, taking pictures, blogging. It was actually a bit awkward to take pictures today, like we had forgotten what we were doing. I started taking off my clothes and Bryan reminded me that this wasn’t a paying gig and that this was for my fashion blog. Whew, that was a close one.

  1. Aw, we missed you too! I'm glad you're back and feeling better.

This shirt is awesome, and I love how you brought out the blue in it with those great tights!

  2. super funny blog today! a few weeks ago, i saw a skirt in the window of american eagle that i fell half in love with, but when I looked at it I realized it would barely cover my butt, i kept walking. definitely not 14 anymore. 🙂 cute shirt though! blue checks are classic.

  3. haha, your posts always make me giggle. I'm glad you're feeling better… I had two spells like that last year, so know know how you feel. The outfit is so cute. I love the blues!

  4. I'm so glad you are better! I missed your outfit posts! Oh and I know how you feel about going into AE…it's like stepping into a time machine back into middle school where everyone wears logo shirts except for me. And I get snide little looks because of it. Crazyyy!

  5. ahh but it's ok to wear AE. I wore an abercrombie skirt today circa my sophomore year of high school… I'm a jr. in college now =]
if you want to compare teeny bopper clothes…

  6. Ugh… I hate writing LOL, but you really made me Lol…
I missed you! I'm so proud you got dressed today! Way to brave the AE filled with teens and cougar moms, though I think A&F is worse. Same crowd, just undernourished…

  7. your last sentence you made me laugh out loud at work. now that was awkward.

  8. I totally bought a dress at American Eagle and returned it via mail b/c I was too embarrassed to go in the store. BAH!

Love the plaid shirt though, adorable!

  9. I LOVE your trench here– where is that from? Also I've been scoping out the plaid at AE on their website but had the same reservations about teeny-bopperness– I'll have to try and actually stop by now!

  10. I know how you feel. I'm currently out of commission with mono and a sinus infection. All I wanna do is dress cute! Anyways I wish we could have seen you at the blogger brunch, but it's nice to see you up and posting again!

  11. I know that American Eagle seems a little, um, immature when you think about it. But the truth is, 90% of the time I get something from there, it makes into serious regular rotation. I started looking there again when Chloe (from the chloe conspiracy) said, "When did AE get so pretty?"

And it doesn't hurt that they have crazy good clearance sales.

I love the plaid shirt with the skirt and tights.

So good to have you back!

  12. Glad you're feeling better! I love that outfit. Classy but not at all boring. 🙂 Fabulous pics too.

  13. Glad to hear that you've been rejuventated!! Being sick totally sucks!

Love your outfit. I think I ned to go find me a blue plaid shirt now. 🙂 Take care!

    xx Love & Aloha

  14. Ahaha yay for being back! Glad you're feeling all better. It seems weird saying that like I've been bringing you soup everyday. Oh well, I do really love the plaid, it's so spring-y!

  15. Welcome back! I love your blue tights! I just purchased some myself. They are waiting for the perfect day-I already have the dress.

  16. Yo, don't hate on AE, son. They held it down for me in high school and your top is proof they can be of use beyond study hall.

  17. There's usually a certain stigma that's attached to some brands, aren't there? Doesn't really matter though, because you pulled off the plaid effortlessly! It doesn't look like you had to punch some 14-year olds in the process, either.

So glad you're alive and well and stylish! The latter being most important, of course. 😛

  18. ahaha… i just had a really good out-loud belly laugh at the last part. that kind of humor always gets me. (if you weren't joking just pretend i never left this comment.)

  19. Welcome back, beautiful! I missed you. I might've missed your blue tights a little bit more, but I DEFINITELY missed you, too. 😉

  20. if it makes you feel any better, I have to punch kooky gma's and the 50 spanish speaking people out of my way at the thrift store.. we'll call it a tie.

  21. I'm glad you find cute stuff in AE from time to time too! I always feel crazy going in there amongst the tweens but I'm always pleasantly suprised to find really cute things (w/o the huge eagle logo on it of course) to add to my wardrobe.

  22. Ok, I am a little obsessed with your blog. I can't wait to see what you're wearing everyday! I think its so great that you fins things that are affordable. The first post I read you had on tan lace up Forever 21 heels that I fell in love with and I literally immediately went to Forever 21 website and got them. Couple of weeks later you had on a navy and yellow floral dress from Target which I also bought, like the next day. You are hilarious and thanks for being such a style inspiration!
